Black dye looks yellow?

I bought Ion 1nn Intense Black permanent hair color. I expected the product to look black when it came out of the tube, but instead it looks yellow. Is it supposed to look like that? Or is it blond dye in the wrong packaging? I've never used permanent black color so I don't know.
