Hi all,
This is my first thread. Hope I'm not duplicating, had a search but couldn't find anything related.
I've a new facial client, with black skin, that has dark areas around her temples and forehead. I use Eve Taylor products and have just started a course of facials using the brightening masks for skin pigmentation and tonal balance.
Wondered if anyone else had come across this problem before and how they tackled it?
Appreciate any advice.

Hi - Obviously you need to base treatment plans on her consultation assessing her pigmentation and origins. I suspect however that you would need a more specialised product than ET to treat this. Black skins have a higher tendency to pigmentation- they have larger and more melanosomes present so avoid harsh scrubs and abrasive treatments. Chemical peels may help this lady but I would advise them being carried out by someone specialised in this area with experience of darker skin types.

Hi there , The only way to tackle this is a peel , Cosmlan is a fab one , you need to trained but you can use it on all skins, black, white etc some peel you cant as it cause more pigmentaion The peel is a exspencive one tho , its £600 to 800 depends on where your from this is the best and the only thing that will work ! Any more questions just ask! Hoped ive been a help!

Black skins are far more sensitive than a white client with red hair.

You have to be so careful what you do as you can actually m,ake the problem worse. You dont want to lighten her existing skin nor cause any further pigmentation.

I use a combo of microdermabrasion and Danne skin peels. I work more on darker areas to counter balance the colouring. Be careful though with products that cause heat or friction such as micro d because if your not experienced enough you can use the crystals to fast and suction too high and create more of a problem.

Sorry that sounds critical I didnt mean it to. The point I am trying to make is to do little often.

For example on a white 25 year old mediterranean skin you can crank a micro d machine up max or scrub away. With a black skin or any skin that is sensitive to hyperpigmentation you should do light treatments more often and you will see results.

Hi princess,

Just seen your thread really Interested in finding out more from in regards to the product Cosmlan. Does it really work! It would be fantastic if the results were great as I have a lot of ladies from both ethnic groups (Black & Asian) enquiring as to what they can use to effectively and safely remove/ lessen Hyper-pigmentation, from the skin without using ban substances. A colleague brought my attention to this product some months ago- Can you tell me who the Suppliers are so that I can speak to the rep re collating more information and possible training. Thanks Kymara
