Black tint turned purple!

just went round a customers house to do a patch test for refectocil eyelash tint (pure black) and the tint looked a weird browny colour and now it looks purple.. Luckily this is just a patch test but is this normal ? I don't want to apply it to her eyelashes and she had purple eyelashes

How strange ive just had the exact same thing with the exact same tint! I thought mine could be out of date so i binned it and used another tint i had instead x

Mines brand new only just been open but tried it twice and both times its come out purple

Mines did that when it was out of date lol xxx
