I would like to offer a body exfoliating polish (body brush, scrub and moisturising massage) to compliment my treatment range. I am trained in body therapy and covered this treatment briefly but it was a long time ago!

Have searched all the threads and learned loads but just wondered should this service include exfoliation of the face as well?

And what about ****s?

Any tips please?

I recently went on a spa day to Sopwell house in St Albans.
They offered the full body polish and it was really nice she started off on the back, arms, legs then turned over and she did legs tummy arms and then asked me if i would like my ****s done or not!!
She didn't include the face though!
Then I washed off in a shower and then had a body massage!!

Before carrying out a Body exfoliation on a client, I always ask if they would like their breasts included in the treatment, as some clients do and some don't.

I don't include face though.

Hi
I offer this treatment too,
I dont include face scrub - as I think that will mean cleansing first then the face scrub then moisturise which is then turning into a mini facial!!
As for the breast, I leave this area but give the clients some exfoliator to go over this area themselves if they wish when in the shower!
Hope this helps

In my salon, we offer a "Body Exfoliation and Rehydration" treatment, and we set it out like this:

Half Body - £xx
Full Body - £xx
Top To Toe - £xx (includes face and feet)

HTHs xx

Even in school we never included the face in a body polish or treatment, nor at the spa I worked at using Aveda products.
Maybe it's for a good reason though... so that they will book a facial along with one or at another time?

My though also, probably because when you deal with the face you need to do further consultation of their skin and use more specific products, so you wouldn't want to go and just use the same ones you use on their body on their face without determining if it is good for their skin type first, etc...

oh and the ****s I always keep the client covered with a towel for their comfort, they never seem to want me to do them anyway haha
and then at the end I leave a little dish of the exfoliant and moisturizer for them to add to the area themselves if they wish.

I never feel comfortable in that area lol

When we include the face on our "Top To Toe" treatment we just use a gentle facial exfoliator xx

Hi there, I'v thought about doing this treatment in my salon, but I dont have a shower for clients to wash off exfoliator. Any ideas, I'v thought about using a wet mit in warm water but think there would still be some grains left on the skin which would feel gritty.

Sound bliss, could do with a treatment myself my skin is sooooo dry!!!

I have worked in salons before doing this treatment and not had shower facilities, we used to use steam towels to remove the exfoliater..... It does work but sometimes requires a few attempts to ensure all scrub is removed!!

Thanks so much everyone for all the help. I will feel really confident doing it now - have already got a booking for one next week now!!

I have got a shower so will be using that but for those without, try doing a search as I found there are lots of threads with great advice about how to remove using hot mitts, how to keep them warm etc. It doesn't seem to be a problem and plenty of therapists are doing that way with no problem.

Hey, I'm really looking forward to doing it now!

i always removed with hot mitts to,but now i'm in my new home salon i have a shower. What way do you do it using the shower though do you do front and back and then ask them to use the shower. Just interested as i have not had anyone in for this yet.:hug:

Just another quick question please!! - how long should it take for this treatment?

We allow 45minutes for treatment x

If you do not have a shower and need to remove exfoliant yourself, you may want to allow a little longer.

When using a shower:

I do back of body, then front of body then give them a robe and slippers to go to the shower room which is directly opposite my treatment room.

I leave a fresh robe and slippers in shower room for them to put on after they have showered and whilst they are in shower, I change couch roll and towels on bed, so when they come back in, I can moisturise them on fresh bedding.

Ive been trained to do either with shower or with mitts.

If you are removing with mitts, I suggest that you mitt the area that you have just done. ie exfoliate front of leg, mitt front of leg, dry skin off and over.
