Body wraps?!?!?!?!

I am really interested in having a bodywrap to spur me on in my quest for a leaner body(arnt most of us ), but although I know its not permanent I am slightly confused as to how it actually works.
Is it just water retention that it releases or .............???
Also, how can 'universal body wrap' guarantee at least a 6 inch loss for 1 month or another wrap for free???
