75 injections now in 24 hours ..and she wants more.

to be honest i don't think she looks any better than she would have done having a make up person show her how to achieve a nice look....she certainly wasn't ugly and i think its a shame when women feel they have to go to these measures....each to their own but cant we be happy with what we are...??....what if something went wrong....how happy would we be then...??

I think our face is just something we get used too....i prefer my face with makeup...i can hide all those little bits that i don't really think do me any favours. So i am more used to my face with makeup...if i was to stop wearing makeup surely in time i would get used to my naked face and not get this sudden rush of "i look terrible" when my make up is removed.

I dunno...i have mixed feelings....my upper eyelids are more droopy now then they used to be...but they will be...i am older...whats wrong with being older...but if thats the case why do i search for creams to make them look better...

Its a tough one eh !!

i personally think that botox hasent been around long enough to know what the side effects are

Surley putting that stuff in your face cant be healthy, like **** when they first came out it seems glamours untill they realise the risks

time will tell eh

i agree with te1fer. def not been around long enough to know the side effects, same with laser eye surgery and a lot of these new medical procedures that just appear all of a sudden. we could end up with a lot of funny looking people around in 10 years time thats had all these treatments now!!

Also, whats the cost to maintain it over the years and what happens if you don't maintain it. You might be able to afford it now but not in 3 or 4 years time

But my god - did you see the doctor who was Madonna's consultant? - dear oh dear

With a face like his - I wouldn't let him anywhere near me. He was orrible.

He certainly was the most frightening looking thing - I wouldn't let him near me with a needle, well to be honest I wouldn't want to be in the same room as him! Did anyone else notice that she appeared to have a bruise on her lower left cheek after the injections - is that normal?!

Botox has been around for about 20years so I think that's long enough to know if there's going to be any long term side affects.

Yes, the brusies were normal.

I just think that was a bloody lot of money for something that only lasts 17 weeks (Botox).

Madonna's doc? That would have been enough to have made me run. He's the one with the skincare range out isn't he. xxx

she certainly got sucked into it quickly didnt she, which i can see how once you start. I am 23 and have naturally droopy upper eyelids which get me down, id like smooth tight ones so you can see my eyeshadow better. but i dont know if id dare have botox. seems like a lot of money for pain, and to keep it up would be expensive

And what about that laser she had round the eyes too, knowing how delicate the skin is anyway in that area...yowch!!!

I hope that as qualified beauty therapists you don't talk about botox like this?!
I must confess to being disappointed in the ignorance on display...

My business is kind of a family affair. I have a treatment room alongside a medical aesthetics business (of which my dad is a partner) and they employ me as their manager. The Partners are both fully qualified GP's with over 45yrs experience between them who have interests in aesthetic medicine.

You're correct - The full effects of Botox last approximately 3 months -Most clients love this... nothing is permanent. The Botox takes a couple of days to show completely and wears off slowly - its not an image changing thing, but clients are looking for a subtle effect. And once its worn off it doesn't leave you looking any different from before.

The solid forehead look is only achieved through excessive injections, which ANY self-respecting, quality practitioner would refuse to do.

Botox has been around for over 30 years... so whilst we can't be aware of the long, long term effects, My personal opinion is that it seems pretty good... lets face it, lots of products and treatments are in use that haven't been around that long.

I know this is just opinions talking... but opinions ALWAYS have more clout when they are intelligent, informed and not based on a tv show...

Sorry guys- this is a real bugbear for me

Well I've had botox and filler the other month and can highly recommend it.
I will definately be getting botox again as it has stopped me getting headaches aswell as removing an unsightly deep frown line at the top of my nose.

I have to say i would get botox! I did think the bit she had done on her eye lids was a bit extreme! They even had to put a metal sheild underneath which made my eyes hurt just thinking about it.
But if i had the money to keep it up i would defo get it done.If you dont like something ...fix it! xxx

It was the 'sucking' noise when he removed the eye shields that got me

Haven't been on here for a while, so was interested in this botox thread as we have a nurse who visits us fortnightly and does botox, fillers etc, and I have to say I've had botox done 3 times now. Its not painful at all, in fact I've never bruised with it. It feels like a sting! thats it. Its been around for at least 20 yrs, and I was really scared about it at first, but it was actually used in the medical industry on children! they had it injected around their eyes to stop twitching etc! all botox does is stop the muscle from working! It stops it contracting, so you aren't able to frown etc. I only have a little bit done so I still have the occasional line, but its given me a lift. I have a scar that used to sit in the middle of my nose, but its lifted it right up, its brilliant. Botox does not get into the blood stream, it sits where it is injected and eventually wears off. Its not as bad as ppl seem to think it is.... I'd be interested in watching this programme.... is it still on???? thanks

Geez she must have been a wrinkly person!!
I've had it for years. Doesn't hurt and looks fab.
Who needs or wants to frown? It's not a good look:lol:
