I am thinking of including brazilian waxing into my salon as I have so many clients asking me if I do it.

I need to know how long it should take to do this treatment.
I can do a the modesty line in 5 mins no problem, and the modesty and bikini in 10 minutes. unless of course a client comes in with a huge amount of hair then i have to trimm it down which takes ages.

Can anyone recommend a good bikini trimmer which does,nt cost the earth as i think this will be more usefull.

Advice always gratefull

You can get bikini trimmers everywhere....supermarket, Argos.

Allow 45 mins the first visit and 30 mins for follow ups. I always allow an hour but that's because I love to chat. xxx

I can do a brazilian or hollywood in less than 15 minutes but can depend on how much hair there is to remove.

My first wax I allow 45 mins for to do consultation and put client at ease. Providing the client returns every four or five weeks it makes it easier to wax for her and you and also gives you a regular income and this appointment should take 15 mins.

Its better to take longer than rush through it as your client wont return. So just play it by how comfortable you are and your client. If it takes you longer then dont worry. As long as the client isnt in a hurry I have never had one complain yet that there treatment took too long!

As with most things the more practise you get the quicker you get, my first brazilian took me an hour and the following few 40 mins.

Remember.......Quality, not quantity.

it will vary from client to client anyway.
First timers i book 30 - 40 mins, then regulars 20 - 30, but you will get to know who takes how long.

With any waxing don't rush! I always say to all my clients, yes I'm sure you can go somewhere else that is quicker but I prefer to take my time to ensure the clients comfort and satisfaction with the results.

you can still offer 'client satisfaction' with speed aswell!!
most of my clients prefer the fact that they aren't lay on my couch for an hour with their foof out!

I book 15 minute appointments for all my braz waxes (bald back and front), although it only takes me 7-15 min to do the service, depending on the client..... new or repeat.

Most of the girls I worked with in the past booked anywhere between 30-60 minutes for the same service.

I agree with Kate, you can offer both speed and quality of service.

I am very thorough and am not going for "quantity" and am very quality minded. My clients leave extremely happy.

I have done this for ten years and would never ever rush a client or think about profits first. My clients are very satisfied with my technique and speed and will never go anywhere else. In the ten years that I have done this I have only ever had one client not return because she found the pain so intense.

I do full consultations etc every time and ensure my clients modesty and dignity throughout. So I do not see why doing a wax in 15 minutes is a problem. I dont think clients appreciate being waxed for an hour in that area.

I also teach brazilian and hollywood waxing and have never had any complaints there either.

I have always found it interesting how it can take 45 minutes to do a full leg wax, but an hour to do a braz wax, which is such a small area in comparrison.

I also am not thinking of profit when I'm waxing.... I am always thinking of client comfort.

I generally do a brazillian in about 30mins now unless they've got a lot of hair. The more you do the easier it is to get great times.

For those of you who say you do it in 15mins etc. what's your process? I use a combination of strip and hot wax - what about you? I'm always interested in improving my own skills by learning from others... any hints welcome.

I use warm wax only but want to have a go at hot wax and see the difference. Anything that makes my clients more comfortable is good by me!

I do my consultation, explain details to clients and find out their expectations or if been previously whether they want the same or less or more removal. They go in room and get wet wipes/knickers to freshen up change into then when there sorted I come back in and start. I do pubic bone first thats usually max 4 strips. Then the underneath which I so smaller strips for comfort. Then I do the bottom which is max 4 strips. I ask client if she is happy and leave her the oil to rub in herself and I leave her alone to apply and get dressed. All in all takes no more than 20 mins.

IThink maybe hot wax takes longer dont know because I have never done one using hot wax.

I too only use strip wax. I work one side at a time. I start by removing the hair in the basic bikini area first (up to the crease line of the outer labia). Then I remove the hair from the lower part first (generally from the perinium up about half way on the labia). Then I remove the sides of the pupis mons and down toward the top area of the labia. If I am removing all the hair, then I proceed to the pubis mons and remove what is left. Then I repeat on the other side. After that, I have the client turn onto their side (kind of in the fetal position) and half them bring their hand around to the back to pull their butt cheek up and I remove the hair from the backside.

I always have my client helping by pulling the skin as tight as they can ( I physically place their hands where I want them during the procedure).

My clients are naked from the waste down.

I always, always, always, use plenty of oil during the procedure.

I always discuss aftercare procedures with the client during the waxing procedure.

After all is done, I apply after lotion and leave the room.

by brazilian, do you mean just a strip or labia+back, sack and crack???
to leave just a strip will take me 15min easy, but if i have to do the labia, back sack and crack it takes me longer!

hi there, well i've been doing brazilian/hollywood waxing now for about 5 years now and i reckon they take approx thirty to forty mins. but on the first timers i'd say approx an hour to do full consultation, treatment, aftercare etc. i dont use a bikini trimmer, i try and suggest that the client trim themselves to the length i require as i just find it quite tricky to trim them myself, and the hair goes everywhere, or if i have to, i just trim with a pair of small nail scissors.

I mean EVERYTHING off, bald back, front, and everything in between.
