hi all,

feeling really mad and disheartend! went in to find my salon had been broke into on thurs night! they took lots of dermalogica, jane iredale, st tropez, australian bodycare and opi rought trade value of £3400 and left a mess. i cannot believe someone can waltz in and waltz out with that much worth of product, i worked my bum off to build up that stock!
anyway has anyone been in a similar position i am just wondering roughtly how long i am looking at for my insurance to pay up so i can get restocked with christmas coming up and all obviously i have accounts with most brands but im i looking at more than a month?
also does anyone have any idea where they will off load the products? i am keeping a eye out on ebay!
sorry for the long post!

So sorry this has happened to you... you must feel awful xx

i am just so mad, they have really known what they are after as they took the high value brands i cant believe they are so clued up they took the opi polishes but left the china glaze ones in the stand next to them! xx

I had exactley the same thing happen at Easter. It is shocking and horrible for you. Insurance took about 4 weeks. I had all the invoices and stock records ready for the loss adjuster which helped speed it along.
I also had shutters fitted before I restocked as I worried that they would wait for me to restock and come back.
Most companies give you 30 days to pay, so as soon as you agree with the insurance man, you can go ahead and restock.
Big Hug x

You should speak to dermalogica too and let them know. I think they have a code on each product so that if it turns up somewhere it shouldn't they can track it back to you.

I'm so sorry for you. Its so upsetting and frustrating. Hope things get sorted soon xx

Really sorry to hear that xxx

that so awful...:( check with other local salons and the local papers selling stuff

Sorry to hear about the theft; it happened once in a hair & beauty salon I worked in & like you we found it wasn't just the loss of stock but the fact someone had trashed a place we worked so hard to make a sanctuary for our clients. Likewise, when I opened my new salon last year my family & I worked really hard to make it perfect and some oiks smashed in the front window; it completely took the shine off of the enjoyment of opening a salon that was completely my own.

I really hope you're able to dust yourself down & that the insurers don't take too long to get it sorted (depending on your insurance you may also be able to claim for lost earnings as you don't have the stock to sell or carry out certain treatments).

So sorry to hear this news,
hope it doesnt take you too long to get back on track
big hugs  x
