Hi everyone,

Went to the doctors yesterday about a lump I found in my armpit, they checked it out and said it is in the breast tissue and reffered me to the Bupa hospital. I am very worried and wonder if any of you chaps have been through this?

I hope its nothing serious matey:hug::hug::hug::hug:

Yeah, I have, and I know it's a really worrying time

I went and had a scan and they diagnosed me with...ahem....'lumpy breasts'....which just means they're naturally lumpy, but if any new intruder lumps occur, then I'm to go back.

Have you got an appointment date yet?

I have no experience of this, but I hope you are ok.
Any idea how long before your appointment?

I also had a small lump, went for tests and everything was fine, it was just "fatty tissue" that has since disappeared on it´s own. It´s hard not to worry but try and remember that it´s not always something bad. Good luck :hug:

Thanks everyone. I am going on Monday at 5pm for a check. I hope it is just a gland or blockage of some kind. Will let you know.

Will be thinking of you, babe.

hi hun

i had this after my first child, put up with it for 5 years cos i hated hspitals (stupd i know) eventually after i becoming such a size that i couldnt wear sleeveless tops etc i decided to see dr, i was referred and they said it was fatty breast tissue and would remove it, i had the op, then they told me they thought it was a tumour ! **** i thought, but i was lucky it was benign although it was bigger than i expected so my scar under my arm was quite big and left me with strange puckered dimpled skin for a while, but almost normal again now, i know i was lucky, should have gone straight away and dealt with it,

anyway i digress, now ive probably worried the crap out of you, and that was not my intention at all, what i wanted to say was, i did quite a lot of research and its quite a common problem hun it seems, so nothing to worry about, it can be fatty tissue or even a blocked gland etc, and is easily rectifyable , so hope you get it sorted soon

let us know how you get on, xxxx

I had the same thing, December 2002... my doctor couldn't get me checked over at the hospital until after Christmas so we paid privately to get it sorted out asap. The consultant drew out some fluid and said when the needle went in he didn't feel any 'grittyness' which was a good sign, he sent the fluid sample off and the results came back clear. It was lumpy tissue and I have to keep an eye on it.
Sometimes a lump might form and is a sebaceous cyst or a blocked duct.

It is a worrying time and I sympathise totally, try not to let it worry you too much, easier said than done though sweetheart

Just wanted too send you lots of :hug::hug: xxx

I lost a lot of weight (which I've since put back on), and I discovered what I would call a large swelling, rather than a lump, as it looked like someone had shoved a chicken breast under the skin, from just below my collar bone to my breast tissue.
The doc sent me for a mamogram, which didn't really tell them too much, so I was then given a ultrasound the same day. The doc/scanner person said they could see it, but nothing was showing up on the scan, so there was nothing to worry about.
Remember, there are lots of things it could be, so try not to worry too much over the weekend.

You are all being so kind. My hubby has no idea what to say to me and so he is saying nothing and avoiding the subject. Needed to tell someone, glad I told you lot.

Sending you loads of hugs X You know where we are if u need a chatX

Hope it turns out to be nothing:hug: Finding a lump was very worrying time for me..its amazing how suddenly nothing matters apart from being healthy and there for your kids and their kids till old age xx

I have lumpy, thik breasts and in autums 2005, after a routinary mammography, the specialist was worried and got me really scared.
By the time I booked for a Medical ultrasonography (sonography) to check out properly my breast ,I was freaking out.
Then it all ended up well. I can understand all the fear you're feeling.
I'll think of you.
Mind you, I was close to my period time, and that usually makes breats thiker.

Just a quick note to tell you all that I have been seen at the hospital and got the all clear. I had a mamogram and scan and it turns out to be a very enlarged Lymph node!!! Thankyou God...never have I been so scared.
