Hi guys

Wanted to ask some advice. I am going to be a bridemaid for my friend in Sept. We have to order the dresses now as they take 6 months to come.

I am currently a size 12 and have lost half a stone and I am still trying to lose weight and am very determined.

If in September I do manage to lose more weight and end up a size 8-10 (which is my target) will they be able to alter the dress from a size 12 to 8-10?

I know its easy to alter dressers to make them smaller but just anxious about how much smaller they can make them?

xx

It would all depend on the style of the dress.
You may be better off asking for someone in the bridal shop.

i used to work in a bridal wear shop.
the lead time for most gowns is 3 months. 6 months seems rather a long time.

we would take measurements and order in the size that mosts suits the figure at the time lof ordering. an initial fitting would take place and an appointment would then be made with the tailoress about 1 month before the wedding to make adjustments and alterations.

most styles would be suitable for adjustment down a size or 2. less styles would be easily altered to a bigger size. the most difficult styles to adjust would be corset types that are boned and laced. these need to be more or less right as there are less places that can take adjustment without the whole garment being affected.
