Good afternoon....I just have a couple of questions....

1) How come the brisa dvds do not say anything about needing to really work in the bonder layer?

2) Is the finishing gloss compulsory....what happens if I dont use it?
If I wanted to could I just buff to a high shine?
(not that im planning on doing that...I just want to know thats all)

3) Gigi if your there lol.......in your book Nailclass....are you refering specifically to Brisa when you talk about gel?

4) When rebalancing Brisa....is it important that liquid bond ONLY goes on the regrowth area (natural nail) or should it be painted over the entire enhancement before gel application?

5) Apart from not capping the free edge properly...what other reason could there be for the gel peeling/lifting in the free edge area?

6) Could I apply Finishing Gloss directly on top of the Bonder Layer?

7) Could I apply Finishing Gloss directly onto the natural nail?

8) Could I base coat, polish and then use finishing gloss to protect?

9) If I wanted to encase glitter or gems etc into gel....at what point would I do it?

10) If I was usuing coloured gel...at what point would I apply the colour?

erm..think thats it for now!

good afternoon....i just have a couple of questions....

1) how come the brisa dvds do not say anything about needing to really work in the bonder layer? i agree, that they make it all look very easy and as if you apply like enamel .. You don't .. You do work it onto the natural nail.

2) is the finishing gloss compulsory....what happens if i dont use it?
If i wanted to could i just buff to a high shine?

no you do not have to use it. You could buff .. Most pèople find it easier to use the finishing gloss.

3) gigi if your there lol.......in your book nailclass....are you refering specifically to brisa when you talk about gel?
my book is not specific to any system and creative is not mentioned. It is about technique not product and my techniques can be used with any system.

4) when rebalancing brisa....is it important that liquid bond only goes on the regrowth area (natural nail) or should it be painted over the entire enhancement before gel application?
liquid bond is for the natural nail.

5) apart from not capping the free edge properly...what other reason could there be for the gel peeling/lifting in the free edge area?
contamination on the surface of the nail ... Nail tip not sufficiently buffed.

6) could i apply finishing gloss directly on top of the bonder layer?
yes you could and many do with brisa toes .. But you would not get a strong enhancement.

7) could i apply finishing gloss directly onto the natural nail?
no you could not

8) could i base coat, polish and then use finishing gloss to protect?
no you could not

9) if i wanted to encase glitter or gems etc into gel....at what point would i do it?
bonder + glitter cure .. Builder gel thin coat cure .. Two coats of finishing gloss and cure each layer. For twinkle toes.

10) if i was usuing coloured gel...at what point would i apply the colour?
would finish the enhancement with a 180 file .. Clean with scrubfresh and apply two thin layers of colour, curing each layer.

Erm..think thats it for now!

This has just answered all my questions that I have never got round to posting WHOOP WHOOP

:hug: GIGI IS A LEGEND :green:

Thankyou that is very helpful....

so for Q.6) It would always be better to apply a builder layer first even on toes? would there be any other circumstances other than toes that a nail technician would chose to only apply a finishing gloss onto the bonder layer?

Q.9) can I not push anything down into the builder layer to avoid having to buff so much away at rebalance time?

Q.10) I wouldnt put anything else over the colour...just apply colour, cure, apply again, cure, scrubfresh, done?

& chemically what is the difference between sculpting gel and finishing gloss?

I usually do not ever build on toes. I would apply bonder layer and cure and possibly another similar layer and cure and then finishing gloss .. just for a bit of extra strength and durability. I suppose if you wanted to just add a bit of extra strength to a natural nail that was already strong or just to make a smoother surface than the client already has, then you could do a bonder layer and then FG.

Q.9) can I not push anything down into the builder layer to avoid having to buff so much away at rebalance time? Sorry I don't get the question. What do you mean push something down into the builder layer??

Q.10) I wouldnt put anything else over the colour...just apply colour, cure, apply again, cure, scrubfresh, done? Many do apply FG over colour (sorry I forgot to mention that) duh!

& chemically what is the difference between sculpting gel and finishing gloss?
FG is a thinner gel ... only the viscosity is different.

with Q.9) what I meant was...rather than bonder, glitter, builder....could I not bonder, builder, glitter! so that the glitter is nearer the surface making it easier to change.
Anyway thanks that has all been very helpful!

Try it any way you like ... there is no ONE way. The layers are so thin, because you are not actually building anything, that I don't think there is any appreciable difference in time when removing it. Personally I prefer the look of the glitter when it is not too near the surface.

Bumping this thread...

I know a few of you geeks have recently converted to Brisa as I have myself and this thread answers a some relevent questions we might have.

I think Brisa bond has been invented since this thread too ?? :D

Wow what a great thread! X

There has always been Brisa Bond what is different now is that you cure it for 10 sec rather than let it air dry.

Firstly, fabulous thread. I have saved a copy! But may I add a question. Which is preferable/easier twinkle toes with brisa or Rock star with Shellac. I'm thinking removal really I suppose.

The easiest for removal would of course be CND Shellac as you would soak as normal.
For Brisa you would need to buff then either leave a thin layer or soak it off.
They both give a beautiful finish and last fantastically.

This thread/post is exactly why im here to start with, to the point, concise, honest, no sales BS ! Once again this forum TOTALLY ROCKS!!
Thanks Anna Banna, and thank you Gigi! Love the book!!
