I've just started to use the Brisa Gel nail system, and I've finished the class, watched the video etc. My client told me that the nails have peeled off within one week. I have no idea what I may be doing wrong...can anyone help me?

Make sure you do through prep, Make sure that the gel is not touching the sidewalls or cuticle area.

Also peeling is not uncommon if you have applied too thin a layer of gel - you must build up the strength with several layers and create an apex.

The best place to ask this question is your trainer or Sweet Squared. If you have just completed your training I'm sure they would expect to provide some post course support

Did you wash cuticle remover with water and then scrub (real scrub) with Scrubfresh?

Did you cure Brisa Bond for 10 Secs?

Did you push you brush when you apply the first layer?

Did you cure them properly?

Did you apply too thick?

I was surprised to read that, so I went onto the CND website and it does indeed state that it needs to be cured for 10 seconds

Have the ingredients changed in it since the name changed from Liquid Bond?
It was always an "air dry" product.

My distributor didn't tell me this the last time I bought a bottle... I'm confused.com!

Yes, Brisa Bond is now light cured for 10 seconds, but check your bottle first as this is for the new formulation :)

Was there any damage to the natural nail?

Thank you for clarifying that Sam :green:

I feel a little bit let down to be honest (especially by Tevian, my distributor) and would have thought there would have been some sort of announcement about this change in newsletters etc :irked:
I've been having some peeling issues and thought it was my application that was at fault, no matter how careful I was with prep etc
(I'm already anal about prep lol) the problem continued... at least I now know why.

:eek::eek: That happened to me at Christmas - I brought a new bottle to a clients home and they peeled off - I apologised and thought I had forgotten to put it on! still using my old bottle so will 10sec cure when I need the new bottle again.

My bottle is about a year old, so do I take it that it's an 'Old formulation' one and I don't do the 10 second cure whilst I'm finishing using it up, please?

That's right you have the old one which is air dry just make sure that the rim of the bottle hasn't gone brown as this will effect how it works.
I was having a bit of lifting but then I changed my bond and it was fine xx

Is this just to make sure it has dried properly ?

Glad that it as been clarified thanks Sam :)

So it only needs to be cured if if says so on the bottle?

It needs to be cured if it's Brisa Bond, not the 'old' Liquid Bond.

the 'new' brisa bond has a lable on the lid to say it needs a 10 second cure .... if no label 'air dry' as normal xxx its only changed in the last few months and the new 10 second cure is now just getting out there .... if you've got an older bottle don't panic .. just use it up as normal xxxx
