Hi all
I was going to do the Brisa course but now i have been notified about the new Shellac am thinking i may as well wait for this new product. The main reason i was going to do Brisa was because of clients wanting french long lasting pedis, but this new system sounds as though it will more than cover this, also am being asked more for gel overlays, again the new system will cover this. Do you think i am right to wait for the new system? Is there any benefit in doing both?:)

To be honest I think there is a use for both....Shellac sounds great and I cant wait to give it a go but I don't think it will offer the same strength that comes with Brisa.

I think you should do Brisa so you will be able to enhance as well as just colour. You will often have clients that have broken just one nail and will need a fix or an extension.

I agree with Bagpuss and gillian. You can never get TOO much education. Plus, the Brisa class is FAB! Good luck! :)

Thanks i think i am convinced that i should now do both courses x:green:

As others mentioned, Brisa is an enhancement system, Shellac is not. Brisa can create length, illusion sculpt, and create shape. Shellac gives you polish that doesn't chip, peel, or fade. Your best business move IMHO is to go ahead and do the Brisa course so you can enhance nails in need :D

Shellac is like a soak off soft gel and Brisa is a buff off hard gel. Most techs actually offer both soft and hard gels on their menus.
Soft gel is usually good for overlays while hard gels are better for enhancements. You will most definitely benefit yourself by training and offering both systems.

This is a quote from Fee Wallace "Shellac is not a gel, it's not a polish... it's a HYBRID, something new altogether"

does anyone know if there will there be a seperate course for shellec?
Im doing brisa in june xx

There is no need for a conversion course for thi new product, as it applies like a polish, it is expected that trained manicurists/tech should know how to do this.....here's a link to the thread all about it.....

There's a point where viral marketing starts to confuse the issue and the clues to a product are over interpreted.

Yes, the formulation incorporates some fantastic attributes and is an example of yet another brilliant concept from CND but let's just keep on the straight and narrow here.

Brisa is an enhancement system, Shellac is not. Brisa can create length, illusion sculpt, and create shape. Shellac gives you polish that doesn't chip, peel, or fade.

Shellac is a nail polish. It complements the Brisa system and of the various reviews I've read regarding this product, it's not an alternative to it. And I can't wait to try it!!

So is shellac gunna be a bit like bio sculpture? That's a soft soak off gel polish, isn't it? Could you use shellac over brisa gels as a colour polish? And is shellac designed to use on natural nails? I'm uber excited if it is!! But sad there's only 12 colours!! X x x

All questions will be answered at the EVENT in May (more info at 08452106060 or Welcome - Sweet Squared).

There will be many more colours coming through in the coming months. The choice of the initial colours will more than satisfy 99% of your clients wants.

In my opinion many salons spend madly on a tonne of colours only to leave 50% of them sitting on the shelf.

Shellac is so brilliant and the benefits to the client so immense that at first they will find a suitable colour in the 12 just to be able to have it applied and to wear it. there will be 12 more colours released shortly after the initial launch.

But - with the CND effects on top there will be far more than 12 colours!!! :)

Possibly but Does this not defeat the purpose of Shellac?

May as well stick to Colour & Effects if you want to wait for polish to dry even if they do dry phenomenally quickly?

It does in one respect but will get no chipping with Shellac underneath!?

You won't get chipping of the shellac at any rate. I have never used the two together. Have CND advised that you can do this? If not, let's wait and see ...
