Hello, I did a brow tint tonight which i have done pretty often, but she wanted them black and a little bit of tint got on her skin, it has made one brow look slightly thicker at the bigger end than the other, I said it would fade quite quickly as tint does, but was wandering if anyone knows of any tips to remove it quickly as I know she has a Christmas doo tomorrow night and would hate for her to feel uncomfortable as she seemed quite worried about it.
Please can anyone help?
Really appreciate any tips thanks Faye.xx

pm'd you flower

Hiya, I dunno if this works with brow tint, but to remove hair colour from a client's skin after trying the tint remover (which never works!) we mix cigarette ash and a bit of milk together (urgh, I know!) and rub it in. Sounds gross I know, but it actually works!

xx

 Omg really? Can i really suggest this to a client? They'll think im mad!! lol. I suppose if it works!!
Thanks hun.xx

I have found that a little rubbing alcohol on a q-tip works wonders.

Hi there,

I use hair tint remover on my clients skin if tint stains the skin. It works a treat. You can get it from sallys. HTH.

Cheryl.

We do use this too, after emulsifying the tint on tint if the stain is still visable, but we do have a junior in our salon who isn't good at washing hair and if we have to go back to the basin sometimes this cannot be removed. The stain remover works to a degree but the ash and milk always does it. We only use it as a last resort especially if the client is going out that evening.

i use a bit of eye make up remover or oil. eye amake up remover is a gel, so i rub it on, it lifts the tint from the skin, and then wipe it away.

99% of the time i wax after a tint anyway, so the only tint thats left is under the hair.

Thanks for the replies, havn't heard from her, i did tell her to rub some oil on it to help lift it over night so hopefully this worked. Will invest in some remover i think just in case.
Cheers guys and have a good christmas.

hi hun i know you have already gotten some great advice - but one other thing ive found to work a treat - especially if you've got a little too dark colour - is a little glycolic cleanser.
you can put it over the entire brow & give it a few seconds.
repeat until desired colour is achieved. Just be careful of the eyes.
It works for me, I used this technique only yesteday.
hth hun xx merry christmas

I have to say that whether cigarette ash removed it or not there's no way this side of time would I be applying it to my client's skin! I know that accidents happen but I also make sure that I apply LOTS of vaseline to the surrounding skin, and make no apology for doing so.
Hope it's come off now!

Am I the only one that is more worried that she wanted them black?

uuuuuuugggggggghhhhhhhhh who on earth thought of that ?!

Milk actually removes tint on its own so I dread to think why cigarette ash would be added, think id rather have the stain than that rubbed into my eyebrows

Occasionally If I do need to use tint remover I use one from beauty express (can't remember brand name) but its quite strong as I discovered when I used it myself !!

Personally I would just use milk, cheaper and fresher !

:)He he it is funny, yes kim i was worried and adviced her to have a ibt of brown added which she agreed to. I too really couldn't ask her to put ash on her eyebrow. Sooo glad milk does it on it's own. Good to know.
Also I did put the old vaseline round but the tint kind of went through the hair undernieth so it just looked like one side was more dense than the other. Its great to know i can use something normal if it happens again cheers guys. Merry Christmas. Faye.x

I have to ask this, what made you think of mixing these two together in the first place? I don't doubt that it works, it's just not two ingredients I would think of putting together!! How did you come up with the idea?

the ash thing has been around for years and years. maybe its more to do with whats in the ash that lifts the tint, i dunno what it would be though, like sulphur or something like that!

God i remember working at a salon 10 yrs ago as a junior on a sat and we frequently got asked by the boss to rub *** ash and milk on the clients skin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! erghhhh cant believe we used to do it ! And we never used to tell the client either !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would def not do it now tho !
