BT - Discounts etc??

I Justhad a girl on the phone from a company who work alongside BT, called Newcastle something.... (not very helpful am I) and she said basically the deal I have with BT is costing me more than it should, they can give me discounts on my line rental and call charges, but stay with BT. She's coming in tomorrow to see me, said there is no obligation blah blah blah....but has anyone dealt with anything similar to this and is it all above board? I'm so worried about getting scammed etc.

Hi Kim,

Just thought id add my bit..... As i believe its perfectly normal for companies to offer phone services including line rental off of a BT line HOWEVER, from what i understand the company is usually separate so the line will be a BT line but you will be billed from another company. I would maybe give BT a quick call to confirm what the girl has told you. hth xxxxx

Hi Kim,

Just wondered how your mtg with Unicom went. Been busy so not online much so apols for not responding before the mtg.

I met with them about a year ago (just to shut them up, and it would be nice to save money - my BT bill is horrendous).

I thought they were legit but they sign you up for 3 yrs and I'm a committment-phobe if ever there was one.

Did you go with them?
