I am having problems with bubbles recently...I never used to before!!!....could it be I need to change the brush? Its so annoying especially when I am doing a natural or french set!...

help!

Hi, maybe you could try this.....dip your brush into your liquid, all the way to the bottom and push your brush flat to the bottom of your dappen dish. Then "wiggle" it about as there could be bubbles trapped in your brush. Also, Ive heard that if you drag your brush through the powder then this can cause bubbles....although I am not sure if this is correct because when I watched the cnd video...the lady done this and hers were fantastic! So maybe not the latter piece of info! lol Hth xx

Hi,

do you use gel or L&P?
For the latter I can´t answer, but for gels, I find it is easy to pick up the air bubble with your brush. Just sort of put your brush where the bubble is and then pick it up, it usually comes up with the string of gel. :)

Also, if you´re using a new brush, make sure you "work it" before using it. Press the hair of the brush to get rid of the stiffness and then soak and work it in some gel (not much) to get rid of any air left.

And one thing too, are you stirring your pots too much? That´s a surefire way to create some nice big bubbles! :green:

I´m just a gel tech in practise, so more skilled ones will probably give some brilliant advice. These are just thoughts of a novice who´s battling with those bloody bubbles, too... :wink2:

Oh, well said Nene! I didnt even ask if it was for L&P or Gel! :smack: lol My answer is obviously for the L&P!! xx

thanks ladies...I use both CND L&P and gel but I have the problem with L&P...

my brush isnt new, I do dip in right down the bottom and push, I can see the bubble come out the brush but then they stay in the liquid, could that be why?

I do drag the brush in the powder...maybe I can try not to and see if I see any difference...but I never used to have this problem before...am I getting worst!!!....

oh...what do u mean by stirring the pot to much?

bubbles can sometimes be caused by mucking about too much with the product too quickly......if you keep patting the beads then you pat bubbles into the product...especially if you are working too wet. Also when you place your bead wait 1 second before touching it to let the polymerisation start.....you will see the bead pull itself together if you know what i mean.
With CND i always drag my brush though the powder to pick up a bead.
I think she means that if you stir a pot of gel ...you stir bubbles into it

mmm...could be that I work too quickly on the bid, I will make sure to leave it rest for a sec before I start working the bid...hopefully I get rid of the bubbles!

thanks:hug:

OK, well my suggestions were for gel.
When talking about stirring the pots too much, I simply mean you stir the gel in it too much (some light stirring is ofc necessary for some highly pigmented/glitter etc. gels to make it even). So exactly what sian1979 said, I was talking bout gels.
Yeah but as I said, I have no idea about L&P and air bubbles. I´m a gel gal (so far). :green:

And bellabeauties, thanks, and yeah I was wondering if it was gel or L&P as there were both in beautifulnails´ gallery, so wasn´t sure, either, hun!

Have you done any CND training at all?? I see you use Magnetic. I think ketan patel covers the London area.....if you are still having problems may be do a conversion course or a skill build with him.....i havent done any training myself with him but from what i have heard he is very good.

yes of course...I dont use Magnetic anymore, sorry will update my profile! I done my conversion with Ketan in October last year and done Brisa last month...

thanks for all the advice...I think the problem is that I play with it too soon and dont let it settle...I will pay more attention to this and see how it goes!...

This will most certainly be your problem. Just place your bead and take a deep breath while the polymerization process gets started. Then start.

If you are finding you want to work faster than Retention+ monomer .. then use CND Moxie Liquid monomer ... made for the speedy techs that are used to faster setting liquids.
