Accountant for salon owners
Other than the VAT threshold staying at £85k for another 2 years (but likely to be some big changes after that); that Corporation Tax will be reduced to 17% in the next 2 years (which we knew); further rates reductions to retail properties; the personal allowance increasing; and a mention that IR35 rules (those affecting how contractors (chair renters) can be viewed as employees) being revisited by 2020; it all seems a fairly modest budget?
With less than six months to go until Brexit – and an increasing possibility of a ‘no deal’ - confidence and stability seemed to be paramount and so to those ends, this Budget Statement seemed safe and sensible.
Anything you saw that affected the Salon industry on top of this?
