Hey all

Just wondering what your experiences were (if you would like to share)with building free edges without forms, in particular with regards to chronic nail biters? up till now i have tipped but the nail biting hasn't been chronic and it`s worked out OK for the clients. I have not come across chronic nail biter yet but have had some email enquirers etc so I`m just debating what I will actually do if I book one in lol! I know how to build the free edge in theory and I have read the fab and really helpful tutorial in the tutorial section but have not used the method yet on a human client! So was just interested in any feed back on this method - longevity etc, how this method works for you?and there is just something a lil freaky to me about applying product directly on the skin *shudders* :| any feedback greatly appreciated!!!!

I've done this once, the pics are in my gallery, I did zones 2 and 3 first, so zone 2 did overlap onto skin, which I oiled a little first. Then, when cured, I filed the smile line, then applied forms to do the white zone 1. It was the first time I've done a reverse application, and I found it takes getting used to, the nails turned out a tad thin in my case, which was easily remedied by adding clear.
This lady did make two weeks between appointments (although I recommended one week), but broke 5 nails-I assume it was her fault as she admitted she was being careless with till in work, hoovering, car boot etc, and she has never had nails in her life, so i warned her it would take a while to get used to them. I know she had tips in a different salon previously, and she said it was a nightmare as they didn't stay on 5 minutes, so I was pleased sculpting worked out better for her.
If you have any qs about what I've done, just ask!

it depends on the setup time, knowledge and the plasticity of your product, you can actually apply one ball, do the cuticle area (and 2 thirds of the nail if it's a true nail biter), then "pull" the product at just the right time to create a free edge.
