Hi
I have searched through the business rates thread but was looking for any feedback on my situation.
I converted my garage in October and am now using it as a salon. I have obtained planning permission from council but they never said if I have to pay business rates.
My garage is detached from my house.

Should I get in touch with council or wait and risk the chance of having to pay the arrears.
Does any have any idea what the average rates are, and if I also used the salon as a home office will the rates be cheaper? Thanks x

I dont think you will have to pay for a garage space I don't for my.shop

Is your shop ran from home? X

Check with your local council as each authority have different criteria.

I would email the business rates department & explain, I’m pretty sure you won’t need to pay any but at least you’ll have it in writing should they come back to you in the future x
