Hi Geeks

Just got a question for all those nail tech who use calgel. When you do a french and you use white tips, what white tips do you use, cause i was using CND tips but found that they broke easy with the gel, so i bought some white ones from calgel and i did a clients nails with them last night and they just looked really thick and bulky, the client was pleased with them but i just think that they looked awful. What tips do you tech use that give you the strength for the gel but are not to bulky.

Thank you:)

Calgel is not good with white tips. The best way to do extended french is to sculpt with your clear and use your white over the sculpt.
For white tips or if a client wants particularly long nails i use a hard gel.

i have only been doing nails for around 8 months so not the best at sculpting, trying to master the everything else first. I use white tips as it i use the edge of the tip for a guide for my white gel for the smile line, as i am getting better at creating my own but just need a little more practise:)

To get smile lines nice with Calgel you need to work quite quickly because it is such a runny gel.I do my french like this.
NNO one layer of clear on all 4 fingers cure do white on 2 nails swipe in nice smile(middle to side, then middle to other side which gives the smile nice pointed ends both sides, rather than dragging gel one side to other) put in lamp set for 10 secs, take out do white on other 2 swipe in smile cure all for 3 mins.Im usually able to do one coat of white but if its patchy do another and cure for 3 again in same way freezing 2 at a time then long cure.
I then do a final coat of clear, building nice shape and arches (3 sausages from zone 3 to 1 one side, other side and then middle) i get them to hold hand upside down for 5 secs or so and put in lamp this allows gravity to pull gel down so you do not have a dip under where the white is.
I then wipe with calguard and do the thumbs separately.
On tips (not white i dont do white tips with calgel) i do the same but build first layer of gel over stress area,do white gel and final clear again building over stress area.
