in training i was taught that we train our clients to reduce the length of the nails by filing each week. does this break the seal, like it would with N.S.I. gel or not any advice please

Have you had calgel training or did you mean nsi taught you this

HI! You could phone Robyn at Calgel and ask. I use Calgel, and i would say that when you reduce the length you are breaking the seal and the nails would need to be 'recapped'. HTH:)

There shouldn't really be any reason for them to take down their own length every week, they should start on a length that they wouldn't need to.They would be coming back to you about 3 weekly anyway.

i trained with N.S.I acrylics then gel. i was told the seal would be broken if you filed the nails. i also trained with Calgel, been on extra day too.the first time i went i was told that you were able to file the nails ( exact words were teach your clients how to file their nails so when they came back for their infills, it would make my job easier). i have did this with my own nails, which were colour and were fine, but tell clients that a little light filing only if necessary should be ok. but i am not too confident in this because common sensse tells me if you have to wrap the product round nail to seal then the seal would be broken if filed. was i tiold wrong.

Filing is my job...:)...thats why clients come to me.

so i guess the answer is no do not file you will break the seal ...thank you

Depends how you file them, if you file them at an angle from under the nail then you will always have the enhancement covering the end of nail, if that makes sense ! I think cnd teach filing this way.
