Hi I do have my licence in cometology for years now I want to better learn about doing acrylics and do them as best as possible. I do my own but still have questions about how it should be placed esp. at the cuticle and what flush placement looks like. I would also love to see how to file the acrylic and see the finished product up close esp. again the cuticle area. I see that Gina Wallace has a 2 hour vid. on sculpting it sounds good anyone have it and if so is it a valueable tool? If not which do you like? Thanks a lot my nail family

You will be better of doing a class, lots of people do the EN nail course, but only a very very few (if any???) stops there, and still have to pay for classes after, to be able to work on the public. I know some even have trouble getting insurance..

So save yourself the money (I did spend my money on it, but thought it was somewhat useless when it comes to working on real people, so I never send it in) and go to a classroom based course with a respected and proffessional company like CND, Ez-flow, NSI (I'm sure there's other companies, but do a search)

Remember product placement is only a small part of the nailservice. And eventhough you can practice that very well (I have used my hand a lot for smileline practise, and product placement) the problems you encounter when working on real nails, cannot be taught on that. Every single human nail is different, and behaves different, the nailtrainer nail only have a few, and none behave like human nails or go through the same things during a day. So if anything buy the nail and get yourself some classroom based training.

I strongly agree with this, sometimes with the DVD you can practice as much as you like, but you really need to do a course with a tutor with you to pin point what you can do wrong. I had been doing my own nails since I was 13! LOL a long time ago, which I thought were fab, but it wasn't until I did my course I realised just how wrong I was. Watching a DVD will not give you that. If its gonna be a career then go on a course. Money well spent in my opinion plus you can then go on workshops on problem areas.

I want to start off with a video for now till I decide if I want to do nails on clients.
