Hello

I seem to have quite a painful thumb nail. I also think its looking a bit odd, Ill try & attach photos. It feels like where the ridge is theres a tight band of nail :(

I Used to be a terrible nail biter, maybe I have damaged my nail for good. I've only got them this long by wearing shellac.

hi caroline,
only a doctor can give a diagnosis so i would pay him/her a visit to have a look at it seeing as it is paining you.
hope you get it sorted quickly as it must be slowing your work rate .

I'd say you'd seriously walloped/crushed this thumb, maybe even before that part of the nail was showing, when the cells were forming in the matrix, in the bit that lies between your eponychium and thumb knuckle/joint - this would have been something like 4/5 months ago maybe? Can you remember anything?

But I would still get it checked by a doc just in case, esp if it's giving you grief

Thanks ladies I will get it checked, luckily its my left hand & im right handed.

The only thing I can think I did was when I caught the nail & ripped it off quite low.
