Can monomer go off in 5 months?

I use OPI absolute and have had no problems until now, have just done a set on myself and some nails have lifted overnight, i dont normally get this? Was wondering if my monomer had been open too long or if it's just the condition on my nails that have caused this. I have a new client today am taking a new unopened bottle just in case but dont want to waste the rest if it's still ok.

I've had some CND monomer open for about a year (I was on maternity) and it was fine didn't have any lifting problems at all.
Can't be sure as I don't use opi xx
