I bought a beauty case my gel polished are to high to store upwards and I can’t shut the lid, was wondering if it would be okay if I put them in there side tightly next to each other with the lids done up tight to avoid them rolling around and leaking?
Is it okay to do this?

Yes, no problem, it's actually probably better as when you stand them upright again they'll get a little mix instead of all the pigments settling to the bottom of the bottle.

I did this once but found doing makes the bottle necks sooooo messy as the polish lays in the brush lid. It can also cause leaking sometimes no matter how tight you have done the bottle up.

Both the brands I use leak...

The top of the brush serves two purposes. The top section snaps into the cap to hold the brush in place, while the lower section forms a seal with the top of the bottle. Therefore if the brush has been correctly matched to the cap, the bottle should not leak in any position.
