hi
can anyone give me there expertise on capping and accenting.

if you do a glitter tip do you cap that first be4 apply z2 & z3

and if capping a colourfade where do you place the first beadx

accenting a colourfade how do you do this without making enhancement look bulky.

xx much appreciated as alwyasxxxxxx:)

If im using a colour or glitter I usually lay down a thin layer of clear first...then for example if I was to do a colour fade I would then lay down the colour as a thin layer...remember that when using colours and glitters you are not building a nail but creating an effect therefore you generally need to try and keep the colour as thin as possible so that you can then continue building the nail on top without getting too bulky.

If for example I was sculpting a colour/glitter free edge using powder...I would still have a layer of clear down first over the entire nail and making a free edge...create the effect (colour/glitter free edge..build the rest of the nail then cap it all with clear.

Hope that makes sense!

hi ya thanks hun for replying. x i have had people say sculp a free edge so the client can change her mind but nobody has said put a thin layer for the whole enhancement, say when youve done that then be4 you do your top layer of clear if you wanted to accent it with a colour say coctail time (have you heard of that) where would you put your bead?xx

If I was accenting with colour I wouldnt use a bead as such....just a very small one so that I could draw out a line with it iykwim and using a smaller brush too....as I said before remember you are creating an effect with colour not necessarily building with it, and you would just do it on top of the colour and before the final layer of clear.

Sorry I probably didnt explain myself properly...'sculpting out a free edge so that you could file the design off if the client wants a change' is basically what I meant...only I would not only make the free edge...at the same time I would put a thin layer down on the rest of the nail as well.

Thankyou thats very kind of you to say...the orange and pink fade is as I described before...lay down a clear layer first...lay down a thin layer of colour (faded in) then while the product was still quite soft I pushed in some fruit canes..then built and capped it all in clear.

iykwim - If You Know What I Mean.

No your not thick at all lol...perhaps I or someone else could be of more help if you could describe more what wxactly you are trying to achieve? Or have you seen a picture of what you would like to acheive?

Try playing with designs on some cheap tips.

oh i thought it was a technical term, told you!! ha derxx i have been practising on tips, my last querie on this, what it is im trying to achieve or know is:

when you cap your nail finally where do you place your bead /sx

Well the whole nail nears to be covered so you do what works best for you ...zone 123...321....213......231 ?? everyone has there own ways I guess...personally and sometimes I would press a small bit of clear over any design that is not flat...such as the fruit canes...to make sure all nooks and crannies are filled...then 321...voila!
