help! i have two new clients tomorrow and they have brisa gel on their nails and they want to switch to acrylic. i use retention by creative nail.. i am not familiar with gel.. not sure how to get them off. i read that you should drill off to a thin layer and then soak off traditionally.. is that true. i told them im not familiar with the procedure but they dont care. would it be safe to just apply acrylic over the thinned out gel? im afraid drilling to thin layer and then soaking may be too harsh

need help by tomorrow 10am

Hi, you would file the brisa down with hand files, as it isn't a soak off gel. It comes off really quickly, too! :) You could then apply your l&p over the top of the very thin layer of gel you would leave underneath. Hths.

Thanks so much I was thinking that but wasn't sure of mixing the 2 products since I have such little knowledge of gels. I'm gonna do that just file down and then apply my acrylic no soaking needed thanks

you'll find that the gel is very easy to file down. then its simple just to rebalance with your acrylic l/p.

One bit of advice though is if you have never filed off a gel, is to take it slowly, It doesnt file like L&P, its a lot quicker to file down and so you need to be cautious as you get nearer the nail plate or you'll lose the thin layer you want to leave.

The fact is you do not need to file off anything if going from Brisa to Retention + because Brisa is Retention plus in a gel form. Just rebalance as normal with R+ and carry on as normal.

Is that really true? If it is then that would be great! I was afraid to mix two different products but now I don't have to worry. Thanks so much I just learned something new!

Yes it is really true or I wouldn't have said it. If you think about it you are not really mixing anything are you? One Product is cured and you will lay over it another product that is perfectly compatible that will stick to it. There will be no colour variation as Brisa never yellows and all CND colours are the same. Very easy and no hassle.

I have had a few clients I changed over from Brisa to L&P due to being so heavy handed all I did was so a regular rebalance applying the L&P on to the prepared nails.
This does work really well I have had no problems at all and as the pinks and whites look almost identical its almost impossible to see the gel underneath.

Does the opposite apply? ie Can you rebalance an L+P nail with Brisa?

xx
