I am currently thinking of changing one of my skin care brands. I stock both Elemis and Environ. I have always been a lover of Elemis, both the products and treatments, but lately 'the love affair' has changed and they appear to have become 'snobby', (not quite the right word, but will do for now!) I'm looking into the possibility of replacing it in the future and researching thoroughly but would appreciate any comments my fellow geeks may have. Elemis is a quality brand but possibly over priced in some areas, so obviously I am still looking for quality but affordability too. And it needs to smell grrrreat. Not looking for much really am I?

Many thanks in anticipation :)

Definately worth having a look at decleor. Lots of similarities to Elemis.

we use elemis in our spa too, i really love it too, but dermalogica is a real treat too, or close to elemis would be the espa range or even aromatherapy associates

I use Decleor, and although I did use Elemis in the past I always thought it was quite expensive for what it is. I can't praise Decleor enough as an aromatherapy & phytotherapy brand. The service is fantastic, free training, you get free samples/testers/gift vouchers etc based on sales & the products are fantastic - this year for the third year running their Neroli aromessence has won the Instyle Best Facial Oil, putting it in their hall of fame. They smell beautiful, and the treatments are out of this world; there is nothing like the Aromaplasty facial, and I'm now doing around 22 a month! The body treatments are also luxurious yet get results.

They are always offering special box sets etc that the salon can buy in through the year to help sales, which has really boosted my takings (selling about £1,000 of products some months, and I'm a one man band!).

Have you considered SwissDermyl? It's a really high tech range, the customer service both in UK and Geneva is very good, there's no minimum order, and it smells lovely!
I can't rate the Phytomask highly enough, and the Enzyme Peel is a star retail product.
I'd dread having to find another range!

sorry to butt in on this post but have a quick question for martin you said your a one man band. how did you get decleor cos when i rung them they wouldnt give me an account because they wanted me to have 2 treatment rooms.

thanks kel x

No idea what your setup is, but if it is the right type and size of place Espa is for me the ultimate Spa brand.

If your looking to replace Elemis personally I wouldn't go for Dermalogica ... they are quite different in brand appeals, and you have the Dermalogica angle covered with Environ. Just my thoughts.

I have worked with Decleor on a couple of occasions and the last time i worked with them I wasnt impressed. I loved the treatments and most of the products but my rep was diabolical. Only wanted to gossip and customer service/help was unheard of, just wanted to walk out the door with my order, so to some degree it put me off.
I had thought of Espa, I definately want something that has the pampering indulgent edge to is as with Environ being more clinical, but I love it, its very good, there are hardly any scents at all.
Will look into aromatherapy associates, thank you!

Re. Aromatherapy Associates, although their body treatments are nice the face range is seriously lacking (only the balance & rose range) & there are only one or two professional only products. I worked with them up until about 2 years ago, so things might have changed since then, but I didn't find the facials achieved anything results wise, they just smelt nice.

Sorry to hear about your Decleor rep, all of mine have been extremely helpful, sending me the odd small emergency order at the last minute postage free, sending information within a day when requested & so forth. I suppose it depends on where you are.

Matis & Comfort Zone are on a par with Elemis IMO. Or Clarins although I have heard that the customer service isn't so great with non branded Clarins Spas, they also have a very high minimum yearly spend to get all the promotions and events that the likes of Debenhams, John Lewis etc offer.

Its a shame your Decleor rep wasn't any good, perhaps you could enquire if she is still with the company. This is quite a few years ago now but the rep we had for Decleor at the spa was outstanding and I used to look forward to her visits as she was so lovely.

I think E'spa is poss good option for you. Worked in a big salon that stocked both Elemis and E'spa. I always thought that the two brands were very similar, but I did retail much more E'spa and their gift sets at christmas were lush.

This has always been my experience with Decleor reps, and with the staff & trainers at head office - they couldn't be more friendly or helpful! I always look forwards to my rep visits as she always keeps me up to date with forthcoming changes, does onsite refreshers on product knowledge, helps with promotional ideas & has never pressurised or pushed me to order things I didn't want.

Comfort Zone are definitely worth considering, the aromasoul treatments are absolutely fantastic and IMO top the Elemis rituals. You have a great offering of massages and body treatments but their facial range also covers all bases from indulgence to results. Products smell and feel nice and they are a good company to deal with. It would work very well alongside Environ.
