Charging for practise spray tans

I have just completed my spray tan training today and im just going to get in Contact with all my friends i contacted before i was due to do my training regarding practise tans. Im giving myself two weeks to get as many practise tans in before i start adding it to my price list. I am looking at charging £20 for a full body tan. Whilst im doing practise tans im going to charge abit as it still costs and im mobile so travel and time and what not do you think that £10 sounds ok while i practise for the next two weeks? Any advice would be great

I would advertise it to friends as an introductory offer for the next 2 weeks at£10. if you say you need some practise they will think why should I pay for it?!

I trained with nouvatan it was great just waiting my tan to develope. Yes i thought about hiw to word it. They are my friends and i did say there woukd be a charge to. Cover products and what not they all replied saying they were interested. I shall say special offer for you specially selected people for the next two weeks get your spray tan for £10 (normal price £20) saving you £10. Does that sound ok? Xx

It depends really.
I didnt find that I needed to practice on many people at all before I started charging the public (but thats just me) and I did not charge people, as to be honest I didnt use many people and we all know that to spray someone uses hardly any solution thus hardly eats into our profits. Dont offer underwear or stickey feet (just use paper towel on the floor and ask them to wear old underwear) to cut your costs right down and ask them to come to you-if their paying hardly anything or nothing they wont mind coming to you.
Its up to you, but whenever I practised on friends and family after a course I never charged-you may be giving them a treatment, but on the other hand they are imperative in helping you to progress and eventually start earning money.

I only practised on 2 people before adding it onto my pricelist, my daughter and boyfriend, if you try to spray someone the night your home from the course whilst its all fresh in your mind you may find that's enough.

I charged £5 and had plenty of people to practise on. The way I see it is that they are doing you a favour - even if I had to drive over to them. Which, if you are going to be mobile, is part of the learning experience coping with different environments to set up in. One client lives in a Victorian cottage with no room tall enough to accommodate the tent so I had to figure out how to set up. I started off really good and then had one or two blips that knocked me right back, but I had help from my supplier. At that point I was really glad I had been giving away the tans at £5 and not charged more. I now do them at £20.

When I did my course I did 3 tans that day the college provided the models, then after that I did 2 tans for free and the girls were so happy they reccommended me to their sister who then booked in for herself and 3 others and they paid me £10 each. That was all the practice I needed really. I would say keep the practices down as much as you can as you will end up using a whole bottle of solution before you have even earned anything!
