Hello, I am just interested to see how and what people charge for balayage. I know price depends alot on locaton.
We currently charge an hourly rate and find it hard to quote people an exact price depending on timing etc.....
I always thiink it's alot more work that your standard highlights, because of toning after and the development times.
I'm just interested to here how other people charge??

Its a lot more of a specialist service so you should charge more definitely. But out of curiosity, do you not tone after foils? Do you not have development times?

No I don't always tone after foils especially if it's a combination of colours.
It's just seems the overall appointment time for balayage is much longer.I am just trying to determine the best way to state balayage prices on our Web page. "Balayage prices from"..... , or an exact price for full balayage. I not sure the hourly rate is working!!!

What do you charge for foils?

We work out a price based on what full head foils plus a toner would be with a bit extra if it's v.long hair that will take longer or need more colour mixed up.

We charge £77 for full head long foils!

I charge more for the first balayage. In my experience that is the most time consuming one that tends to require setting up the pattern, lightening/ adding depth to a lot of hair and figuring out the development time/ toners etc. After that I charge for a" balayage touch up " and that one about a third less.
For a website i like the idea of being safe and putting the price in a range kinda like( $100 and up or Starts at $100 depending on length of hair and desired results. ) so you don't have some gal with tons of hair asking for the impossible and pointing at a price on the service menu.

I charge between £60-100 depending on how light or heavy the application

Jees am defo in wrong salon!! Clients would have a buckle in their eye at those prices.

I'm in east London though. I pretty much charge the same as when I do highlights

I charge £60-75 for full balayage (same as full foils - standard pricing for my area) but the more I think about this the more I feel I should put the price up as I hardly ever see these clients compared to foil clients due to the ease of regrowth! Xxx

That's the going rate depending on your location. Have a loom at what your competitors are doing
