Hi,

I am a trained waxer using peron rigot waxes. I wax a friend who used to shave and the hair is so stubborn. The main problem area is the chest/stomach area, a day of so after waxing the hair seems to be growing back which is leading him to think he is better to go back to shaving. I have said it takes a few treatments to get good results and i think he will give it ago again. Any tips??

Could it be possible that some of the hair has been snapped off? Is he waiting for all of the hairs to come through before waxing them again? x

Hi there!
some chest hair can be stubborn, but can I ask you how long was the hair growth on his chest:?: The reason I ask you is I always advise at least 3-4 weeks growth so the waxing treatment lasts longer, as you will already know the shorter the hair growth is, its no good to wax. Yes I agree that after a few treatments it will get finer and less growth. What wax did you use:?: Maybe try using a male wax as this is designed for them specially and it grips their hair better. Hope this has helped you :D

Well we waited 4 weeks till doing the second wax, hair was nearly 1cm i guess. Will try to leave a little longer next time.

I would have thought 1cm more then long enough with PR! I usually clipper longer hair down to 6mm (grade 2) before waxing. Don't forget if the hairs are too long they can break off.

When applying the wax ensure you apply a little pressure to the spatula so that it pushes the wax right down to the roots. Then press firmly press the strip down. I often find it helps to get the client to do some work with chest and abs waxing. Get them to help with the skin stretch to get as tight as possible.

Did you use strip or non-strip? With really stubbon hairs using non-strip down the middle first can be a good help, and you also get a comparison - it may be that you find this more effective.

And yes, he needs to do at least three sessions around 4weeks apart to get all the hair growth into one cycle.

Good luck!
Mat.

The hair wouldn't be growing back so it must have been broken. Get the wax right down on the skin and really stretch the skin when you apply the wax and when you remove the wax. Make sure you keep the strip close to the body and don't pull it upwards as this can break the hair. xx

Thank you all for the advice. I did wonder whether i was getting the wax down to the skin properly as he is so slim and lean that i was finding it awkward to get a good run with the metal spatula due to the sharp contours, even small areas were difficult. I use oil a tiny bit of oil usually (not on this occasion) would talk help the wax get a better grip?
