Please HELP!!!

I've been recommended through a friend of a friend to do a kids party (I think the girls range from 5-6 years old) and this is all new to me as I never done one before.
I've looked at some of the threads and I think the best plan is to offer mini manicures/pedicures with some nail art and then give each kid a goodie bag?
The things is I haven't actual spoke to the women who is organising the party so not sure what she is looking for? But I wanted to get some ideas first before I ring her, so I don't sound like an idiot.

What do I charge per kid or per party?
Do I need to check my insurance to see if I'm cover to do kids parties?
Do you need to be CRB checked?
Do I need the parents to sign a consent form?
What do you put in the goodie bag?
Do I get a depoist off the lady first?

Any ideas and comments would be great.
Thanks

I am due to start my mobile nail business once my website is done.
I am putting a nail file/mini polish and nail stickers in the goodie bag, I have a consent form for the host parent to sign, I am charging £6 per child.

I dont want to put a damper on things, but do you think its wise to include files in party bags for 5/6 year olds, i know id be horrified to see my daughter file her nails, they just saw away without realising and shes 7,and watched me loads, some will make themselves sore, then youd get peeved moms? SORRY but its a thought !! :)

5 & 6 year olds will need entertaining to keep them interested. You will need to stress to the party organiser that someone will have to supervise the children this should not be down to you.

At this age they love to colour. Why not cut out some nail designs for them to colour. Have a few nail art designs for them to look at and maybe try and copy using colours pencils. Little nail stickers are god for them to put on their own nail design pictures.

I always felt that i'd rather be an addition to a childrens party rather than the main source of entertainment! I would take them off one by one to do nails and nail art, if you are doing the whole party you could give the rest some tips to paint and decorate with some old polish? make sure you put a sheet down of course. They could blue tac the tips onto an ice block or something?

Ideas for party bags...
Hair bobbles
lollies/ sweets
some nail stickers
small polish (not sure how a 5 year old would be with this though?)
plastic ring or something?
pot of bubbles

I now wondering if this party is going to be more hassle than it's worth?Thats why I wanted some advice before ringing the women who's organising the party for her daughter.

Thanks for all your advice.

Make sure you price it right. My parties for children of this age are £8.50 per head includes goody bags.

you can buy ready filled goody bags online, lots of people do them..... approx price for nail party is something like £6 for nails £8 with goody bag, this is what i have seen.

It should be kool. just a little thought to be put into it, theres some good suggestions on this thread, and just think of the potential customers you may get,Id leave in the bag a contraindications sheet and buisness card too, so the moms know your a proffessional:) got for it, will be fun

As your working with children you need to be crb checked, are you supplying the invites? On them you need to ask of any skin conditions and get the parents to sign to say you can work on there child. i do nail art face painting hair up & glitter spray i put music on have a bubble machine and take princess pictures to colour and magazines for the kids to be doing whilst they wait there turn i take several dressing up outfits they can dress up if they want i supply taking home bags with beads and bracelets hair clips bobbles bubbles and sweets and put my pricelist in aswell. i charge £10 per child.

Hi

Thanks for your advice.

I've checked with my insurance company and as long as I have each consent form signed by the parents and pop in a consultation form for each child they said that's fine. They've also said its worth me becoming CRB checked if I am going to do Childern's parties on a regular basis.

Also I'm not the sole organiser of the party just an addition.
