i am still building up my bridal work portfolio and adding to my makeup kit, plan to launch my bridal makeup business end of sept/oct in time for wedding fair season

in the mean time, and to hopefully raise some funds for more makeup i was thinking about offering childrens makeover parties, to include makeup, hair decs, and perhaps a little nail art - is there much demand for this ? particularly with the credit crunch - or are mums running their own parties?

would really appreciate some advice about the above, do any of you run makeover parties? and if so, could you please give me an idea about the itinery and pricing

i was also thinking about running "celebrity makeover" and "skincare and makeup lesson" type parties for the teens - do you think these would work?

many thanks

Skincare / Make-up lesson could be popular.
Many moons ago, at my high school - students would recieve treats / bonuses for good work or winning competition etc...
A few times there was a beauty salon voucher.
Maybe you could contact the local schools??

I think its a great idea.... im opening a salon shortly and we will be offering this. Dont know how popular it will be but if you dont offer it you'll never know!

A lot of people who do face painting also offer the princess makeover parties and whatnot, so there may be a fair bit of competition out there already.

Also, a fair few of the face painters have a CRB check, which could stand in their favour in terms of who gets hired for a kids party or whatnot, especially for the more paranoid parents...
