hi geeks

well today i had my first real waxing client, she wanted an eyebrow and then later a chin, i was soooo nervous i thought i would forget how to do everything... honest i was pooping myself especially considering she had really thick eyebrows and i was like ugh! how am i gonna get a shape out of these, its much easier if the person already shapes them and you can see the hairs beginning to grow, anyway having said all that they came out great, she was really happy. She then asked me if i had time to do her chin which i did but i had to pluck most of them out, they were so stubborn i could not get them out with wax, i was using honey wax, felt dissapointed in myself but she was very considerate knowing she was my first and i charged her less.....
my question is how do you get rid of stubborn hairs on the chin, should i use a different wax?

I feel like a stiff drink now, that was very nerve racking, but she seemed pleased, hope she comes back

thanx

Well done for getting through it but you should have charged her more, not less. Have you tried non strip wax on facial hair? You might find that better.

Sorry to nag but you really have to get your brain around the fact that you are running a business and not a charity. Know your worth. xxx:hug:

hun hard wax is so much better for the stubborn hairs and for eyebrow waxing.
I have a lady who has thick chin hair and the hard was is a dream for this .

Now you have done it once it will be easier so don't get to stressed about it

By the way.......I was joking about charging her more. Serious about the rest though. xxx

I would try hard wax on the chin. A good quality hard wax would grip those fine hairs from the chin so there would of been no need to tweezer the little beggers out!!

Sometimes if you put a little more pressure on application as well that helps the wax stick to the hair - if that makes sense.

Well done for getting through it.

i had bought some perron rigot wax in, but having trouble using it, in so far as i dont have nails to pick up the edge with and also if i lay the wax thinner in some areas it wont peel off and im not sure how to get it off (do i use the shiny side of the peeled wax to pick up the bits)... i was so looking forward to using perron rigot from all the review i had read but found that using strip wax it was easy picking up bits with the strip, could anyone help me with this.... otherwise im thinking of selling all the perron rigot stuff i have bought recently and it was alot !

I know with just a few clients i will pick up my speed and feel more confident, but for now while im still a newbie i dont mind charging a couple of quid less..... I dont like letting people down and i feel i need to emphasise to people my newbie status rather than them having a bad opinion of me and losing my reputation... if that makes sense.... :)

You don't need nails to flick the end just use a spare spatula or your tweezers I do this with no problems.

Just apply it to the correct thickness leaving a little thicker lip then use the spatula to catch the end done nice and simple hths:hug:

thanx klassy klaws, i have to say that most of the time im ok with lifting up the wax, its thinner or left over bits of wax i have problems with picking up, what do i pick it up with? the shiny side of the already lifted wax?

The thinner bits won't be there if you make the strip nice and thickish around the edges. Also if you take your stick that you applied the wax with and use that to start the release of the strip, that works very well. The little bits left behind? Usually have hair under them. And hard wax is always stronger on those coarse chin hairs than soft.

thank you everyone... i think i will have to practice more to get the hot wax thicker in all areas, now i need a hairy chin to practice on..hehe

Well done for completing the treatment successfully. Everything will fall into place for you and you will be pleasantly surprised to see how quick you gain confidence. X
