City & Guilds exam coming up soon!

Hi all, Ive been training for a year and on the 5th of december it is my assesment day, practical and exam questions! I was just wondering if anyone has done their exam through city and guilds and if they have any advice as im soooo nervous, Ive never had an exam yet so I don't know what to expect? One piece of advice, RELAX , nerves are peoples downfall, just do as you were taught, and think your way through it,and you should be fine, you will be thinking after, why did I worry ??, when I had my assesments (exams were on different days ), the tutor wasn't stood over me, she just came and had a quick peek, but this was done to everyone, honest its not as bad as it seems.
I was also chosen to go on the internal verifiers night too, ( I was well nervous, but it was fun, as they were accessing how well we were taught, it really was a great night and I'd be happy to do it again).
I have my wriiten exam on Monday for nail enhancements, and cant wait now, one step closer to being qualified, yay.

HONEST !! ALL WILL BE OK AND GOOD LUCK WITH IT ALL :hug:

Read up as much as you can and test yourself as much as possible , try not to get to nervous keep your mind clear, you know you can do this with flying colours try not ot worry , go in there and do your best. your do well.good luck hun.xx

hi I too am doing City and Guilds Manicure and I have just had my first practical assessment (I did an exfoliation manicure). I have my next one tomorrow night and will be doing the hand mask and hot mitt treatment, there are two more assessments to go after that which will be a warm oil and and hot wax treatment and finally the exam online on 2nd dec. I am just revising everything i have learned especially the anatomy and physiology parts. If you can memorise as many of the contra-indications as you can too I think it will really help. I have found a test specification sheet online which says that the online test lasts for one hour, the minimum pass mark is 60%, and there are approx 50 questions to answer. (this was for the Itec qualification but I think City and Guilds will be roughly the same). In the Itec exam there were 25 questions on anatomy & physiology, 5 on contra-indications, 5 on products, 5 on tools and hygiene and 10 on treatments. HTH! and good luck!
