sigh yes it IS another lash extension thread
IM SORRY

I have decided to not invest my money in HD brows and instead go down the lash route

what i want to know is not necessarily WHAT brands are favoured, as everyone has diff opinions, personal taste..
BUT

what is considered popular/needed
ie what lengths. curls , thicknesses etc

I have been doing my homework and to a novice (ME) the sales reps are baffling me with what they offer aginst competitors etc

but it all goes over my head CAN SOMEONE PLEASE OUTLINE WHAT IS NEEDED, WHAT CURLS ARE POPULAR/EASIER TO WORK WITH FOR A BEGINNER WHAT LENGTHS ARE STANDARD, WHATS DEEMED EXTRA/NOT NEEDED IN A KIT ETC
or whatever else q's im missing

so i can alalyse which company is best for me personally once i understand the basics please

I am still new to lash extensions, but from what I have read, if getting just one curl in then B's are good and 0.15's go on really well and are suitable for most people. Not too heavy, but thick enough. Easy to use as a beginner.
Lengths I have been using are 9mm, 11mm and 13mm, but I am looking to get some 7mm in as well for the inner corner as I feel the 9mm are too long. I mostly use the 9mm and 11mm.
I am however, very new to this so more experienced people will probably help out.

Most companies will do these sizes, but I think one of the most important factors to look at is the glue.

Hope that helps a little xxx

glue ok addled
hahahah am being told about mink lashes silk lashes etc, y lashes
how no other company offers 4 thicknesses 4 curls

one particular company says she deals directly with korea, no middle man so will change her glue etc to keep up oin trends

its all a foreign language to me so its hard to judge WHO to go with

thanks jen x
- how are u getting on with training?

As a beginner I wouldn't even think about y lashes, you can always add them later on if you wish but they can be heavy on the lash.
Also as a beginner I wouldn't pick a glue from Korea, a lot of the companies have british or european glues which pass all the necessary standards for use in the uk and Ireland.
Faux Mink and silk lashes are the same thing - I think!?!

It is hard when deciding who to go with, I spent a very long time thinking about it and reading up on things on here. It is very confusing.

My lashes are doing ok thanks, still only doing 1 or 2 a week, but not advertising it. Getting faster each time.
You will get a feel for which company is right for you, but I would try to use one that has a glue with a good reputation, it is easy to buy lashes from anywhere.
Things to look out for with training are IMO small classes and good aftercare. Also it is better to work on models rather than each other. You will have tons of questions even after training lol :)

Good luck and any questions, then I can try to help xx

i dont even know what y lashes are hahahahahaha!!!!!

ok so training is important....
have been on this site looking for ages
thanks jen x

Great thread i was going to do one smiler but lack of response to my first thread stopped me as i think people must be bored of lash threads lol.

Iv done the searches on here and spent hours reading threw threads on lash's and I'm still unsure :green: ,But finally chose who ill go with (going to do lash and tan with same people and can not wait ).

Ohh rambled a bit there:lol:, what i wanted to say was ,, I am going with a company that gives you ( in the cost obviously ) training full kit and info on how to build your business it seems to have everything iv read i would need to start off in all the threads iv gone threw ,But like you I'm still interested in what are the best lash's to use and where is the best retail stuff bought and glue ect but suppose that comes in time ourselves as what one person prefers another dislikes. And iv noticed there are a lot of people train with a company and use X Y or Z to get there glue or lash's from so im still looking for the best and most recomended stuff even if its not all from the company i choose

its all confusing really
xxxx

Y lashes are the same shape a the letter Y they have two thinner lashes coming from the one stem. Good if you have a client with spaces in between her natural lashes that you are trying to fill. But as said above they are heavier so not so good to use as full set.

I have only been lashing for 6 months so am by no means an expert on the subject.
When I completed my training I was taught with J lashes as this is the curl most like the natural lash. It has a straighter stem if I can call it that than the other lashes, so is the easiest to apply (I think)
At the moment I am using J's and B's in my sets as C's are still a little tricky for me to apply as they have so much curl there is less lash to bond to the natural lash.
As for sizes I am using 7mm 9mm 10mm 11mm 12mm and a few 13mm starting to build my kit up in both 0.15 and 0.20's as these seem to be the most popular thickness.
( 0.10 I find to fine and very fiddly to use and as for 0.25 and 0.30 I don't feel I have enough experience yet to tell if a clients lashes would be strong enough to take them so wont go there)

Does any of that makes scene:eek: xx

guys you are great,
"lots of lashes" this definitely makes sense, the curls etc thank you for clarifying that for me, i didnt understand the benefits of the diff curls, which is easier to learn with etc
So you as a beginner you found j's and B's (WHAT IN GODS NAME SHAPE IS A B CURL???) easiest to apply
so y lashes are great to fill in missing hairs/sparse patches, theey adgere to the natural lash on one side of the gapo is it and the "y" gives the illusion of a lash coming from the gap
-am i picking that up right??
GREAT thanks

Maybe im a dimwit but if someone has two secs to clear up why there are diff thicknesses and why some are more popular etc than othrs

DONT JUDGE , YOU WERE A BEGINNER AT ONE STAGE TOO!

Morado- i an NEARLY tempted to ask who ye decided to go with but am tryna keep this a no named thread!!! lol
PM me hahaha

hi Jenn, yes that right the Y lash attaches on to one natural lash and give the appearance of 2 lashes coming out of the space.

As for your other lash shapes
J's look like natural lashes
B's have a little more curl at the ends
C's give you that flicked up look
D's think of Jordan ha ha very big curl (very glam)

as for your thickness's
0.10 for someone who has very fine natural lashes
0.15 normal lashes
0.20 normal lashes but if client is loosing lots try filling with more 0.15's
0.25 good thick natural lashes or a temporary set
0.30 same as above I think

as you get a little more experienced you tend to mix say 15's with a few 20's as it gives you a nicer natural look

if any of this is incorrect im sure one of the more experienced lashes will put us right x

There are different thicknesses as your own natural lashes are not all the same thickness. Also, some people will have naturally thick lashes so they can handle a thicker extensions, 0.25 or even a 0.3. If you were to put these same extensions on someone who had naturally finer lashes you would damage their natural lashes as they just couldn't take it. For these lashes you would need 0.15. Maybe 0.10 for really fine natural lashes or 0.2 if they're a wee bit thicker.

Hope that makes sense and there's not too many spelling mistakes. On iPhone and it sometimes likes to make a fool of me.

Ah, there you go. Lots of lashes explained it better than me.

lots of lashes and tweexerhappy on her iphone, thanks a mill !!!

wow, never knew we all had
a -diff thicknes in lashes from one person to another
B- diff thickness of lashes all on one person

why cant the lash ppl explain this to me instead of telling me all the curls, thicknesses i am going to get in my amazing kit
maybe i should have done better researh, but believe me its hard to find the basics and not just be bombarded with names of companies!!!

so in my kit i should have a variety of thickness, lenghts, curls

-are these the three criteria needed per lash?
a jade stone?

what this - some come on a strip some in a boz, whats the diff??

sorrrrrrrreeee !!

In your kit you will probably get 1 curl, same thickness and a few different lengths. Thus will do for practicing. When you get used to the application you can start adding more lengths, thickness and try other curls.

Most lashes come loose in a pot. You would put out a few of each length and pick them up one at a time. You pt the glue on the jade stone. Pick up the lash, drag through the glue, place on isolated lash.

I prefer express lashes that come on a strip. I find it quicker working with these. I take one off the strip, drag through glue and place.

There are some really good videos on YouTube. Actually, I think here is one on here.

One of the companies quoted me today that they have up to 6 students in a class. They couldn't tell me how many trainers there were though...
I'm rather hoping that there are more than one trainer because I think six to one is too high a ratio.

Is that 6 working at one time or will you be using each other as models so only 3 working at a time? If it's only 3 working at a time then I think that would be ok. 6 working and 1 trainer... I'd move on to the next on your list.
