hi everyone.

i have been waxing now for years and never seem to have any problems.
infact i am usually remarked on how i am very good at waxing!

yesterday i did a clients lip and chin wax (she has it done every couple of months, she has a sensitive skin and always goes very pink but it goes down after an hour or so)
i got a text from her last night saying her chin was very sore and red and didnt know what to do, she sent me a picture message of it and it looks really sore and grazed.

I always check the temperature of the wax before i use it and everything was fine, i supported the skin etc as i always do.

I'm really puzzled as to how this has happened and feel awful for the client! She says it feels like a graze. I advised her to apply lots of aloe vera and look into something like sudocreme that treats cuts etc.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Any advice?

Thanks alot

xx

Did you use warm or hot wax. If you used warm wax and the temperature was too low it sometimes pulls on the skin.

Also, is your client now on any kind of medication?

Did you use a barier on the area, for example a little bit of oil?

This could make you feel awful when it happens, but reassure your client that you did everything you thought right - perhaps go round in person to see what her skin is like. X

hi
when i started my waxing course i got wax left on my leg & tried using hot water & soap to get it off, that left a mark that looked like a graze. Maybe she hasnt taken note of your aftercare

i use warm wax, i did test the wax first and it seemed fine....

she seems fine about it but i feel awful!

I agree with what ADiva1 says about the temp of the wax being too cool, this happened to me once and thankfully it was on a non paying friend but when the wax is too cool it can pull the skin and the after effects are a graze, I also waxed my mum when she was on medication and she reacted in a way she has never reacted before, she is normally totally fine but she went bright red and stayed that way for most of the eve, I know what you mean though, you cant help feeling awful but im sure its happened to most of us x

You said she seems fine about it so try not to worry. It does help to post up pictures though so we can have a look as it is impossible to say what is the cause without.
