Hi,

I have a elderly lady client that came in to tell me that she had MRSA, about 3 weeks ago. She was booked in for a pedicure, so I cancelled it and told her she couldn't have the treatment.

I noticed she has booked in for tomorrow for a manicure and reflexology. Am I right in asmuing she is contraindicated for both treatments? If the MRSA is cleared up, then does she have to be cleared for a certain length of time before commencing any treatment?

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks

I personally would seek advice from NHS Direct or your GP, also your insurance company may have an opinion. I have not come across this before as in an active case but did have a lady who had recovered a year previous to her waxing with me.

I don't know too much about this but I think it is one of those things where operation sites are the main problem but I would ask around and at least feel safe.

Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

Sheila  xx
