Hi guys,

Just had an email from a lady who explained to me she had a wart on her leg and when she shaved it, it spread across her leg. In the email she said she had been to her doctor who told her the only way now was by waxing?

She says she has never had her legs waxed before and would understand if I didn't want to do it because they spread by touch.

I feel really bad for her and want to make her feel better but am unsure if it is a good idea to do this treatment? Could I wear gloves like normal and ensure I sterilise my treatment room straight before/after?

Slightly confused, any help appreciated!

Many thanks :green: xx

don't touch her! I would tell her to go get it dealt with by her Dr. and not risk your self or others.

you still wouldn't be able to wax over the warts as you may tear them off. it is not worth the risk for you or for your client. she needs to get the warts dealt with then she can have waxing.

Has she really been to a doctor????
Deffo wouldn't touch it,,,,,, even if you wear gloves that's just going to protect you but like somone said you wouldn't beable to wax over the warts,,,,, if you use pot wax you'd have to use a differnt spaula everytime you touch the skin and a differnt wax strip.

I'm not sure, it did seem a bit weird I mean why would a doctor tell you to go to a beauty therapist when you have a contagious skin condition?

That was my exact thought - maybe I'm too suspicious but what the heck kind of doctor sends someone with a contagious skin condition to be waxed  The excuses people come up with

Warts are a contraindictation so no, as much as you want to help the lady, it's not going to help you. I wouldn't do it.

Remember to explain why you're saying no though, and that she's more than welcome to come back when it's cleared ;)

god love her
ask the doctors name !! seriously i doubt she has been or else i question the doctor

if shaving has encouraged spreading it what in gods name would waxing achieve

from a prof point of view no way would i touch this poor woman
also from a fellow clients point of view i would not be happy knowing you wax warty legs
LOL
sorry i now it aint a joking matter but why risk spreading more infection to others incl yourself regardeless of how much u sterlisie etc

its an invitation for disaster

advise her to take the holistic approach and deal with the warts first then to heal the skin and then worry about hairs
surely she isnt braving mini skirts with warts on her legs anyways?
