I was taught by the college how to do eyelash extensions (clusters) and last night I did them on a friend using salon system adhesive and lashes, when we did our training I did them on a few ppl and they stayed on for 1-2 weeks. Last night I did my friend so I could take photo's and she texted me this morning to tell me that her left eye had completely fallen out and the right eye were out of shape, she said she had had a shower this morning so about 10 hours had only past from me doing them, I did tell give the after care of no shower for 12-24 hours but I wouldnt have expected as much fall out as she had?!!
I was taught to get the client to keep their eye shut, place the bulb of the lash in the glue gently lift the eyelid up slighlty to place the eyelash where the root's of the natural lashes are and sandwhich it in between the lashes and allow to dry. I cleansed the eye before (non oily)

Can anyone give me advice?? Have I done something wrong? Should I use different glue/lashes?? (can you tell I'm a bit panicky) x

Has she used an oily cleanser this morning? Maybe she has rubbed her eyes in the night? I had a client who's lashes mostly fell out because off that problem. I use the salon systems lashes and glue too.

I dont get the client to open thier eyes until I have glued them all on so they dont get jogged do you think you opened them too early? DO you set with more glue over the top?

These lashes are quick fix only really and they should only be advised to last for up to 5 days.

hi.. i advise a weekend and some get 2-3 weeks with care, it depends on if she rubs her eyes hayfever etc, these lashes are quite heavy.. try putting them on from under the lash instead of dropped on.. have a go on yourself first they not only look better thet ar less likley to bend while asleep xx i have the client close eyes and i press the lid so waterline is reveled.x=:D

hi there.. i have a friend who used the salon services adhesive etc and it is rubbish i must say.. you are not the only person that has said that they fall out a few days later or even the next day. maybe try gettin better adhesive and they will last a few weeks with the clusters.. there is also a very strong smell that comes on the salon services adhesive which irretates eyes i have found also

glamlash adhesive and ilash adhesive are really good

xx

Thanks for the repiles guys, I spoke to my tutor about it this morning (last day of college) She said I did the application right (I dont drop them I do them under the lash- maybe didnt explain that bit well enough). She said I left the eyes long enough and the lashes I used are good but she thinks it's the glue and the fact she showered too soon after having them done. She thinks the glu might be off because we have had a while and said that the glue isnt the strongest and told me to try to get ardell balck glue.....is it any good?? And thanks for the advice on how long it lasts as we were told 1-2 weeks and dont want to have people coming back to me once I start doing them properly....will be doing a lot more sets before I start charging thanks guys xx

this happend to me recently and ive never had problems i use the salon systems glue and lashes, most of my clients get at least 2 weeks from them.
i do lashes with there eyes open slightly and put around 12 on each eye so if they loose 1 or 2 its not noticable.
i wasn't sure what caused them to fall off, it was a really busy day and i think i cleansed her eyes with damp cotton wool and didnt dry them off before applying the lashes.
i once had some lashes put on by a friend and they all dropped off but i'd had a spay tan 4 hours earlier so think my lashes must have been greasy x

I always use the Ardell back glue it is very good, the lashes last for two weeks no problem

Do you all find it easier to apply the cluster lashes with the client laying down or siting up?
I apply mine when the client is laying down, but hate it when they get stuck together when they open their eyes - any tips to avoid this happening? x

get the client to open eyes and look up and put micropore tape on the lower lashes , (if of course they aren't allergic to plasters ect....)
or a little bit of vasaline? x

Thats a great idea - thank you for that. I will definatly try this next time.:D
I did think about using the under eye pads over the lower lashes like you do when applying the semi-permanent lashes, but this will just work out more expensive. I charge £12 for a set of cluster lashes & did a full set today 25 clusters on each eye! 50 lashes in total!! The client wanted very very full - which she certainly got :D x
