The ed said it will be available in selected salons only, so I would imagine it is as a professional a product as shellac in terms of only available to s2 & official distributor account holders, with the added bonus that WE may retail to our clients... Please someone correct me if I am wrong?

Spot on BensMis!
VINYLUX™ will be available to S2 customers only (nail Pro's), and also through its network of official distributor partners for you - as a salon service, and also for retailing to your clients. :)

The suggested retail price ? Does this mean we are likely to see this on eBay and amazon etc so not a professional only product anymore :-( and will s2 be retailing it ?

You have to be realistic about this and yes it probably will end up on these sites, it doesn't mean you have to buy from them and to be honest the products are sometimes more expensive, they certainly aren't a lot cheaper...and thats if they are genuine.
You can buy shellac lamps, products etc off ebay, you can also buy products from Boots, but a lot of people want a professional product and a professional service and they will want to buy genuine vinylux too, these are the clients you already have and will continue to get. So try not to worry too much about it xx

Lol thanks Julia (it's Jaimie-Lee). See you at the event!! Xx

You have to be realistic about this

Indeed we do, and unfortunately if it is a product which requires no lamp, and nothing more specialised than a bottle of polish which is readily available on auction/discount sites then as excited as I am about all CND products I do think there is a very great risk that price sensitive customers will do their own thing.
That said, I have many cupboards full of ingredients and foodstuffs. Does it mean I can knock up a meal like Nigella?

And as I tell all my clients, if you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait till you hire an amateur.

It's up to us to expound the virtues of coming to us rather than having their mate dollop a bit of polish on their paws.

Interesting

So how much do you guys think you'll charge for this treatment on it's own?

Difficult to say until we know the trade price, and the length of time to apply/let dry.

Haaa, i should have recognised you from your pic! Yes, see you at The Event :)

...and it only requires 2 colour coats & top coat, so less product than before xx

FINALLY we can talk about it, Vinylux was starting to remind me of fight club .

The first rule about Vinylux is you DO NOT TALK ABOUT VINYLUX :)

I'm very excited about it and see it as a fantastic retail opportunity and another choice for clients , can't wait for the release , Does anyone know what shellac colours have been matched?

Ooh no, no hotski. One of my main clients will be so disappointed.

I am hoping though that next years Shellac launch mirrors some of these colours that we do not have in Shellac..

Bicycle Yellow and Darling Escape pleaaase :)

I got a leaflet with all the colours and description in my latest order. Looks lovely.

Nicky can i be very cheeky please & ask you to maybe take a pic of the leaflet & post it so those of us that haven't got a leaflet can see the colours, hope you don't mind xxxx

Please ignore that message, I've seen a link posted with the colours on hehe xx

Can someone clarify if I can purchase this polish please? I'm already registered with sweet squared.

I haven't actually made an order yet though, I'm mani & pedi trained (not by cnd though) I work from home so not a salon, will I still be able to order? Sick of opi at the minute, this sounds ideal xx

Okay...my tinsy winsy doubt from earlier has gone right away! I can only see brilliant things coming from this! Really excited and can't wait for the Event even more now! X

Love that quote Lynn. I'll be using it lots. :0)

just a small point, there have been lots of comments on here about how people can just paint their own nails at home, so wont come in for manis anymore.
I dont know about you lot, but I include cuticle work in my mini mani's and i dont know ANY client who can do a meticulous mani like I can!

I too am a hairdresser but I have long thick hair and blowdrying it myself is like pulling teeth :irked: so when i can spare the time, I have someone blowdry my hair. strangly enough my blowdry lasts around a week, what a coincidence!

I use a lot of Iced Coral shame it won't be a colour, but I suppose they can't make every colour, and all depends whether you can layer or not, roll on the event so we can find out more!! x

I have a few clients that have gel or L&P and then shellac over the top I'm loving that I can use this instead of 'wasting' Shellac but not compromise on the colour choice.
I know it's not wasting really but over an enhancement it doesn't add any more strength. And it cuts my service time down too and believe me it's important with my timings.

What a fab point! X
