Hi

I've just bought my first tube of gel bond as I've heard such good things about it but when I tried to use it today I just couldn't get it to set ? I tried holding it for a full 30 secs and still no luck

Is there some kind of trick to it or might I have got a faulty tube?

I had one like this once, just wouldn't set!

Sent from my Nexus 7 using SalonGeek mobile app

I found that when I used too much .....adjusted to less and it was fine

It was overflowing out the edge if the tip so I was probably using too much

It's so thick coming out the tube how do you spread it thinly , I didn't want to use the nossle to spread incase it glued the lid on

I was also taught to scrub fresh after not before applying gel bond and tip, maybe try that xxx

Hiya, I would definitely try to use less, there is a trick to opening gel bond, if you pierce it yourself it's almost impossible to use a little amount.

When you remove the lid for the first time there is a little ring sitting under it remove this and throw away, when you replace the lid it will 'self pierce' it helps keep the flow to a minimum hope this helps :)
