I need to work on my application technique and although the tutorials and advice on here is great, and I practise like hell, I would really benefit from some hands on training. The only thing I cant decide on is, do I have some one 2 one training or go to a skill building class?
Any advice from peeps who have done both would be great:hug:

Do you have a specific problem with your application? If you do and you know what it is, you might be better with a one-to-one.

HOWEVER, the Skill Building Application and Finishing class is very good for brushing up on all aspects of your application and finishing, it is also a great opportunity to mix with other techs and you could learn a lot from challenges they are facing which will come up during class.

Either will help! Your call!

Thanks Fiona. Yes, I do know what problems im having and I am swaying more towards the one-to-one training as I would like that attention but, then I think for bit of extra money I could get an extra 5 hours of training at the skill building class.!! Decisions, decisions!!

I did a skill builders class with Dianne Plummer and she asked each one of us which areas we would like help with then covered everyone's problems one by one,
it was a great day and i came away with more knowledge and info than i had gone for hth

Thnaks for you advice ladies!! Ive just booked a 1-to-1 with Ketan for next week. He sounds really nice so I cant wait.

He is nice and a great laugh too,
you will learn loads from him but your sides will be sore from all the laughing

LOL he was making me laugh on the phone so god knows what i'll be like when i meet him:lol:

In a word ...... he's MENTAL!

I done my foundation course in Dec with him and he certainly wasn't anything like I imagined!!

Im thinking about a 1-1 class also... although not sure yet what on. Got a few things that need some attention .... thinking I might leave it a little longer just get a bit more experience and then it might help me see clearer exactly what I need help on.

It'll be good to hear how you get on with the 1-1 ... let me know. Just out of curiosity, how long have you been doing nails for?

I did my foundation course in 2007 but Ive only been doing my own nails, my auntie's on a regular basis and my cousin but hopefully the spare room at the dads house will be ready for me to work in in the next 2 weeks. Thats why im desperate to brush up on my skills which wiil hopefully make me a bit faster aswell. Its still taking me roughly 2 hours to do a full set . Ill let you know how it goes. Im so excited. Ive heard nothing but good things about Ketan :)

is 1-1 training expensive?

When you think about what you are actually getting,one-to-one attention with a top educator, I dont think its expensive. Like adele said, best to give S2 a call. x x

thanks guys will do that x

I'm in exactly the same position at the monment can't decide whether to go for some 121 or skill building?

Can I ask what swayed you towards 121?

I have never been to a skill building class, so can't comment on it. I've had 121 in the past and will do so again, as I like my educator's undivided attention when I'm floundering! I definitely think it's worth the money and maybe you could achieve what you want in a shorter space of time because you have them all to yourself? :)

I spoke to Ketan and he asked what problems im having and suggested that a 121 would be better for me. I think its the best way for me too as I would probably getting slightly embarressed keep asking loads of questions with more students there  You should speak to your educator and im sure they will lead you down the right path. I cant wait. Just hoping they'll be opening with all of this bad weather
