i've been trying out performance no contact area tips but having a problem when placing the tip on the nail, i put the nail tip on wait for glue to set than the side wings stick out at the bottom of tips and when i try to pinch them in the glues dry so they still sticking out ( does that make sense) Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong please..xx

You need to apply the adhesive both on the tip and on the natural nail...make sure there is enough on the corners of the tips....hold the tip in place and then using your thumbs press the wings/sides/corners of the tips down.

I use gel bond and using the method above don't have a problem....hope this helps.

speaking from personal experience, I have found that if the fit (c curve) is not right, then the tip will not last. I found either the centre of the tip stuck well and the wings stuckk up or the wings stuck but their was a gap in the centre. When the tip fits the c curve of the natural nail then these tips are beautiful to work with. Hope this is some help.

get some tweezers (for this purpose) to anchor the tips down the sidewalls.

I advise not to apply adhesive to both the tip and the nail, the layer of adhesive ends up being thicker (well it does make sense really) and adhesive is weaker than acrylic. But thats just "my" way of doing it, we all have different ways.

Actually the Performance tips will fit any curvature of nail ... you just have to learn the techniques of applying them so that you do not experience the troubles you are having.

I have used them on extremely arched nails and very flat nails and they wok equally well IF you know how to deal differently with the differnt curves.

CND Performance tips are made of a very easily molded material to suit all nail types.

Carl, what tweezer do you use if you don't mind me asking?

then, as it's been said, always look for a tip whose c-curve matches the natural nail, or tips that are supposed to be matching every kind of nails if you're fine with them...

I'm just greedy have every type of tip going ... I have all the Creative tips and if one doesn't fit just right you can bet another will.

I hope I am not speaking out of turn but can I ask how best to apply to flat nails? I would love to use performance tips more often as I really love them but never have any success on flatish nails. I always end up with a small gap in the centre of the nail, if a press the centre to adher I get the "wings" popping up.

thanks
Rebecca

You can squeeze them on while angling the tip (shown in the video), rather than just pressing them on, just use different pressure from the sides according to the "c" curve and hold steady until set.

The tips I use are very flexible (as are Performance tips).

I don't know the brand, I got them from a nail show, any tweezer that serves the purpose will do.

Thanks for your reply Carl, by the way I love watching your videos, just wish they were accompanied with a verbal!!!.
