In a recent thread about L&P brushes I decided to buy the CND Ultra Sculptor.
I have always used the CND Pro Styler for my CND & The EzFlow 508 for my EzFlow.
My goodness, the Ultra Sculptor is a big brush. I'm a bit scared to use it tbh.
I have had it about 6 weeks and used it twice! I keep it wet though and just look at it!

Today, I decided to use it to do CND P&W's.
I found I ended up with 'pockets' under my white smile lines and when I placed the pinks into zone 2 it went in ok to produce a decent smile, but my zone 3 was 'lined' with like..brush scores or marks when I pulled the brush down to smooth over my application. I kept on brushing over to create a smoother surface, but don' have to do this as much with a 'Pro Styler'.
Is my brush wrong or is it normal, or am I doing it wrong? Or am I just not used to using a 'grown up' brush! LOl!

Because it is bigger it is heavier, you need to use it lighter than you would your pro styler hth
you will soon get used to it hun

I alway strugglwe with pink and white application with my bigger brush. I keep a finer one especially for this.

on advise from geeg i got an ultra sculptor....OMG...i am in love with it!!!!!
I was a bit taken a back with the size of it a first but with a bit of practise i now find i get a really smooth finish with it, and my pink and whites have improved dramatically. I wouldnt say i am totally 100% with it just yet...but i see a difference with it already and think when i get the hang of it properly it will be really really good.
Stick with it....

i love my ultra sculpter - i used to be a pro-styler gal too, still have 1 or 2 lurking about (i got 10 really) ok ok i like brushes. but since using a bigger brush i dont have time for the smaller ones, but i do use them for other things so they not totally retired yet

I've got 2 pro stylers tht are now my official 'glitter' application brushes.
Using my Ultra sculptor from now on for my P&w tho!!:Scared::lol: Gotta get used to holding the big thing!

 I totally understand where you are coming from. I have used a Pro Styler for more years than I care to mention but roxanne and Tiffany convinced me to try the Ultra Sculptor. Honestly, I like it but I still use my prostyler quite a bit...one reason is because I have several of the Masterseries Prostyler replacement brush heads that I stocked up on when it got discontinued here in the US. I will eventually switch over to the Ultra Sculptor but it did take a bit of getting used to at first. Stick with it. Change requires practice and persistence.

Hi Bev rose,

I beleive I started that thread.. and on Gigi advise I alsio bought an Ultra Sculpt.. To be honest it is smalled than the one i was using!!! i didn't realise just how crap and out of shape that old piece of crap was... actually i think it was so big in the end cause there was sooooooo much crap stuck up in the end of it ( sorry technical name escapes me)..
ANyway I too had some adjustments to make and I still have not 100% worked it out... but i can tell you the more you use it the more it becomes an extention ( as says in nail class) on your hand... keep going with it and leave your other brushes for the glitters as you said...
I found it alot softer than the one i was using but i also found that i needed to be a little slower and gentler when i was patting and pushing my L&P... my whites sux... that is just me.. nothing to do with the brush...:(

Oh I loved my Ultra Sculptor, most especially because my brother had "customized" it for me! I held it and we measured a length that seemed best for me to work with, because frankly I did not like the length of the handle (don't flame me here, just my opinion!) So he sawed it and buffed the handle so it still had the nice angled end. I thought it would be off balance, but it was perfect, it was ruined later on(someone at work ), but I have kept it so I know where to cut down my new one to!

After a bit of snooping around, it seems to be a pretty standard practice to have different brushes for different purposes. I understand having dedicated brushes to certain monomers, but why do you have dedicated brushes for glitter, color, etc? Is it to keep the monomer from contaminating? Just thought I'd ask for my lesson of the day. :green:

I have seperate brushes for when using glitters for glitter tips etc, so that there's no likehood of finding a stray sparkle in my pink & whites! I have in the past and it's just so annoying!
