Hi Geeks

Just got my Velocity tips through this morning to replace the ones i were using suppied by EN. I tipped the no;6 nail perfectly, blended and shaped perfectly too so tried on the no;13 nail, blended and shaped perfectly or so i thought until i was buffing it and the free edge came off completly pmsl :D

Have i been too harsh with the filing? ....im finding it arward blending such a tiny thin well with such a bulky black file. :irked: xx

Its always best, when using a product like CND tips to have training on this product with CND!! Don't think you can just have tip blending training but you get taught it in the foundation cause (i highly recommend it)

They show you how to pre blend a tip before you apply, so once it is applied to the natural nail there is hardly any blending to do.

HTH

have you tried using the fine grit on the sanding block to blend the tips

No i havent but will try that one thanks xx

Dont worry hun that happened to me the first few time you need very little blending with these tips as they are so thin so just go gentle dont worry hun you new and will get there soon:hug::hug:

maybe you had a little pocket of air /air bubble.

Sometimes - you can apply the tip wrongly - you need to sandwich it with pressure from both sides.

mistakenly - you can push down too much that your elbow rises up and the tip is only adhered to the top part of the nail and there is a large pocket at the free edge.

When you blend you may blend too much that you go through the plastic where the pocket is and Booff... the tip is gone.

Then again i could be talking nonsense - it may have been something else.

No defintaly there wasnt any airpockets because i used gelbond and had the best fixture ever.

I used a 180 file which are suppied for the EN acrylics. Should iuse a 240 file instead with them being thinner than EN tips?

the EN files are like sand paper, really rough but the sanding block should do the trick

I find they only need a 240 grit to blend them. Sounds like you have just gone at it like you would have at the EN tips. Don't worry about it, just crack on with a little less pressure and see how you get on.

The courser the file the lighter must be your touch with it.

Velocity tips blend super fast so You just went too far and went right through it. :irked: oops

When you use high end products, you don't need to use 'low end' techniques. Gently does it and you will blend the tips in half the time with half the effort.

Thankyou for your help  xxxx
