hi guys ,got a problem , ive got a longterm client that is going to bali for a year so she wants to go more natural ,at the mo she has bleach and h/lift hilites every 6-8 weeks and is a base 5. I thought id hi-lite the top with a mix of shades and do the rest something like 7/73 . But with the weather and the amount of blonde and how dry it is , i really dont think it stands a chance in hell of holding . she hates orange ,and her hair is quite gold anyway ,so i dont think it will be a problem not pre-pigging or
do you think it would hold better if pre-pigged and then a flat base 7 over the top?

i did 8/07 on my mums bleached highlights and kept a few foils, and she went to turkey for a fornight and came back lookin bleached again so i wud go for 7/7 or summin like that, that covers even the lightest blonde without pre pigging. . . x

Hi, Liana I think just a warm brown like scottydolly says will be better than pre pigging ,

are you using quasi or tint ?

I agee I used 7/7 a few weeks back on a friend who wanted her bleached highlights broken up a bit before going on hols...short hair so i used 7/7 through the front mainly as her hair is quite short didnt need to prepig and the colour held really well.

thanks guys , shes going for a year and is hoping to just let her natural colour come thru ,without the roots looking too bad. Its long hair as well ,which ive been hi-lighting for ..15 years

I used 6/7 on my client last week to break her hi lites up and it was lovely. She has short hair ,bleached hi lights and 7/17 put in between but the hi lights were looking too solid. Without pre pigging I find the /7 really work but they do fade quickly. Good luck:)

How about l/lites of 5/73 & 6/73 with a base of maybe 7/32 or 8/32 all over? No prepig needed, just a good regime of anti ox? Plus, retail her a year's worth of anti humectants and s'poo & cond?

ive tried lowlighting it before , it just washes straight out which is why i wanted to put more colour in there . the problem i have is with it holding - would a porosity equaliser help?

Yeah, equalise the porosity and use a pH balancer/anti ox afterwards. Should do the trick. Old fashioned trick is to apply neat tint 2 shades lighter than desired col and apply col on top. Acts as an undercoat.
