Hi, so long story short my sister wanted blonde highlights with brown lowlights, her hair was so bleached the 1st pic is what her hair was like then what she wanted. I used colour touch 7/73 for the lowlights and 10/0 & 9/16 as toner the outcome was beautiful but after a year of doing this her hair is now looking very natural and not how it was before does anyone have any advice on what to do to make it look how it did when I first sorted it out for her ? I used bleach 9% and 2 blonde one brown, I only know how to do highlights. Hope this all makes sense :) xxx

The blonde looks warmer than the original and so does the base. I think you'd be better off doing a full head of sliced bleach highlights. And the other add your brown inbetween every other section. Let it process and then tone it all with your original toner of 10/0+9/16.
Can I also ask why you're using 9% with bleach?

The blonde is a lot warmer she’s wanting the blonde like how it was in 2nd pic using 9% as thought it would be better to lift it more so do a full head sliced then add the brown in between the foils or add it in between while I’m doing the bleach foils. So would you say I’m
Using the right toner ? Thanks for your reply

9% with bleach will create more lift immediately, but then because it oxidises faster, after the first 20 mins or so it works a lot slower. So you'd probably find you'd get better lift with 20vol /6% and leave it on a bit longer.
You'd need basically do a full head of sliced highlights and the when the highlights are processing, go back through and on every 2nd or 3rd dropout apply your colour touch 6/73.
Then let it process. Rinse, towel dry and tone.
I definitely think 10/0 + 9/16 is ample for what you're trying to achieve, providing th ehair lifts to a level 10.
If it doesn't I'd add a few grams of 8/81 to your formula.

Brilliant thank you so much, I see what your saying makes more sense using 6%. I use blue powder bleach , would you recommend a different bleach or is that okay. So with the sliced highlights would I still do them fine as I don’t want it looking like block colour.

And sorry if this sounds stupid so by saying drop
Out do you mean the hair that’s remaining after say the 2nd foil, do a slice highlight and put the 7/73 in and so on?

How long would you say leave the toner on for ?

Thanks for your help.

What brand bleach do you use?
Well I'd say the picture almost looks like 1x slice of bleach + 1x weave + 1x slice and then a sliced dark. But you need to do them much closer together. On the more recent photos there's no way near enough blonde to get that crisp blonde effect.

I use Blue frosting bleach but wondering if to change it. brilliant I will do that. And that’s what I was struggling with getting that crisp blonde effect but it’s making sense now!

Thanks for your help really appreciated!

Ahh interesting. I've always wondered what that bleach was like.
I swear by blondor or Affinage Ice cream bleach.
As for toning you kind of need to do watch over it and just go by eye. You'd need at least 10 minutes o would have thought.
