Commercially Acceptable Timings

Hi Geeks

I'm just wondering everyones thought on commercially acceptable timings for some beauty treatments. I know it depends on how long people have been out of college etc, but if anyone has any ideas on say 1-2 years post qualified experience I'd really appreciate it.

Say for example on the following treatments, from consultation to finish and based on the average normal client:

- 1/2 Leg Wax
- 3/4 Leg Wax
- Full Leg Wax
- Bikini
- Eyebrow Shape
- Eyelash Tint (given 10 mins developing time)
- Eyebrow Tint
- 3/4 Leg, Bikini and Underarm Wax
- Chest Wax
- Back Wax

I have given rough timings of what I would book out in the diary rather than how long they actually take me. I've been out of college a year nearly so my timings are probably a little higher than most but I am getting faster by the day!:lol:

- 3/4 Leg Wax 25 mins (30 min appopintment)
- Full Leg Wax 35 mins (45 min appt)
- Bikini 10 mins (15 mins)
- Eyebrow Shape 10 mins (15 mins)
- Eyelash Tint (given 10 mins developing time) 15 - 20 mins (30 min appointment)
- Eyebrow Tint 5 - 10 mins (15 mins)
- 3/4 Leg, Bikini and Underarm Wax 35-40 mins (I'd book out 45 mins but my therapist would probably book out 1 hr)
- Chest Wax 30 mins
- Back Wax 20 mins (30 min appt)

As our appointment book is in 15min sections, these are the times I would book out. Some treatments may take slightly less time than that allowed though. HTH

This is what I used to give my therapists for their timings when i was managing salons.Having been qualified for over 15 years im certain i wouldnt need that amount of time for certain treatments but these timings i think are acceptable for most therapist with some experience.

- 1/2 Leg Wax 15 - 20 (book 30min)
- 3/4 Leg Wax 20 - 25 (book 30min)
- Full Leg Wax 40 (book 45mins)
- Bikini 10min (sides only, book out 15)
- Eyebrow Shape 10 (book 15)
- Eyelash Tint (given 10 mins developing time) 30min
- Eyebrow Tint 15min (If done at the same time as lashes, no extra time booked out)
- 3/4 Leg, Bikini and Underarm Wax 45 - 50 mins (book1hr)
- Chest Wax 30 - 40 min (book 45)
- Back Wax 20 - 25 (book 30 min)

It's perhaps worth bearing in mind as well that we use the Clean & Easy system which is sooooo much quicker to do than pot & spatula.

For instance you should be able to do FL & BL in less than 45 mins but may take nearer an hour (maybe longer on a larger client) with pot & spatula.

Thanks so much for your replies everyone.

I'm doing this to purely to book out time for my therapists as I'm a bit concerned that they're taking too long to do certain treatments. As per everyones replies, I think I'm right!

I agree with the geeks timings as individual treatments. So if say you have a client who wants an upper lip as an add on treatment, don't allow any more time as it only takes 5 mins. Also and underarm as an add on treatment should only be 5mins.

I know exactly what you're getting at. Are your therapists treating each area as a different treatment and adding up the times so it say comes to 1.5 hrs, when it should be around 1hr?
