Just had my first lesson in L&P and was loving it. I wanted to get some L&P to practice. The tutor said that CND is really good and it is the system I will most likely want to use once I am done with the course. (Heard lots of praise about it from all the geeks here) The lecturer advised to get a starter kit. I have checked out the CND site and found Radical, Moxie and Retention. Now I am stuck which one is the basic? We use OPI absolute in college. Can anyone advise which one of the CND is most similar to the OPI? Also which buffers/files are better OPI flex or CND ranges?

Thanks for your advice.

Hi! I like you, learned with OPI Absolute while in school, but I now use CND Retention, and have been since before I graduated, and to me there is no comparison! I love, love, love CND and have no regrets changing!! As soon as I started using retention, my teething problems with lifting etc, were quickly ironed out-it took me a bit to learn since you work at a differant ratio, but just go on to the CND website, and you can learn so much from the videos- once you catch on I think you will like it as much as I do- I do use opi files, however and really like them- I hope this all helps:)

Thank you so much for your reply. Has helped alot. Guess I am off to the shops now :)

A word of caution

OPI and CND have completely different usages and procedures - the product chemistry has developed down very different road - just because you are trained and confident with OPI does not mean these techniques will serve you well with CND...
For instance - CND do not use a primer with retention+ ....

I would strongly recommend contacting your local supplier/ CND education team and do a conversion course to really get your head around it... And yes it truly is a great product ;)

CND I'm sure you should be able to find a local college or educator under the education page

This is very true and I should have mentioned that I have taken classes with both opi and cnd, and they are quite different- this is a great suggestion, and with a conversion class it would be far better so you can fairly decide which works best for you!! Good Luck!!:)
